March 2016 Rental Car Discount ~ Promo Code ~ Rate Watch

Rates are starting to come down some, at least for early March. They're still not down as far as my best reservation so far for March 9-15 (compact $108 base/$160 total at Dollar), but most are at least under $200 now.

Looking at Dollar this morning, I did see a pretty good minivan rate, for those of you interested. Using the above dates, I'm seeing $168 base/$231 total for a minivan or midsize van. For a minivan, that's not too bad...

So I checked again this morning and saved another $15 on my Budget rental! But just checked again (about the same time I did yesterday) and WOW did Alamo jump! Like doubled in price! Good thing I got the Budget rate this morning (it has remained the same price.)

I've seen no movement in my rental for March 10-13. It's kind of crazy that I haven't found any weekend deals. I've never paid more that $10 when only renting for the weekend from a DTD hotel. I'm still at $86 total.

I noticed a bit of a drop with Alamo and Dollar this morning for March 9-21 range. Not below my current reservation with Budget through Costco of a Compact for $279.

Alamo's prices drop about 40% on the daily rate if you PICKUP from Car Care Center and RETURN to the Dolphin. It also drops in price if you pickup from Dolphin and return to Car Care, but doesn't drop as much. Also, beware the hours at Dolphin, it closes at 4pm. Worth looking at though. I need a car for two separate daily rentals while at the Contemporary mid March (20th, and 23rd) and the rates dropped from nearly $80 a day to $40 for a compact.... check it out!

I posted in the April thread that we were able to get a significant savings the other evening when I checked through travelocity. Renting March 29-April 5. Mini van through alamo. $240 all in.

Just got a full size from Tampa airport to port canaveral from 3-30 thru 4-3 for $87. About half the price it was a week ago. Thru Alamo with Brazil and Costco code

I got an email today from Car Rental Savers showing a $10 coupon for Alamo on weekend rentals. Does anyone know the code for that coupon? The email doesn't give any other info. I've been watching for a coupon for weekends and this is the first one that I've found.

Got an 8 passenger van picking up and dropping off at MCO - 3/11 thur 3/19 for 252.33 - Alamo.
Used Visa code (7014926) and $30 off code (AD2338FDF)

Keep checking until you leave. I was able to to get my rental from the 9-21 down to $212 for a full size vehicle with Alamo using costco discount. Trip is arriving in Tampa and departing from Orlando. My previous best reservation was a compact vehicle for $280

My rates through Costco just dropped. P/U at MCO & D/O at Dolphin (Alamo). March 24 12:00 - March 27 12:00. Originally $221, now $147.

First choice was MCO 3/24 12:00 - MCO 03/28 8:00, but those rates are still higher than my original booking.
