March 2016 ... anyone else going

Have you all booked your March flights? My friend wants to go but I'm shocked at airfare.

I'm a TA and I can tell you...flights are scary this year!
I booked a family today that do the Disney Dream every year - March break - and air was $200 more this year PP than last. That said ..loads are light so far. I almost feel as of the airlines are ' testing the waters ' to see what the market will bear.

Thanks for this. I just booked my January flight. March would be a bonus trip with my friend and our kids but if flights don't come done a bit--no dice. Ill wait a bit. I'm hoping the market won't bear these prices.

Booked 4 round trip tickets out of Buffalo on Delta through Expedia for $1200 Canadian. Thought that was a decent deal!

Booked Feb 27th to March 5th. Leaving from Albany on SWA: 1600$ Canadian for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids).

I need those exact dates, it's our winter break. We are in Montrel I might have to check it out. Thanks!

I've got my southbound flight booked for the evening on March 9th. We will leave right after my DD finishes school to drive to BUF. Technically, she is missing 2 days of school(she's in gr.11) but they do absolutely nothing on the Friday because so many kids are away. With that in mind I don't feel bad about leaving on Wednesday.

Now, to this point I have no return flight booked. I'm playing the SW waiting game. Most of the WGA fares are showing as unavailable so I think that they are trying to get a bunch of people to bite at the higher price before they open up more seats. We wanted to stay in FL until the Sunday so I was prepared to pay a higher fare but I'm NOT paying $444 USD each for a one way ticket. Last year I paid approx $525 Canadian for the 2 of us RT.

Thank you, I just check their site. I live near them actually. I only see packages and hotels, were you able to book just the airfare with them. I called and left a message as well.

In fact, I booked a package with them, so I don't know if it's possible just to buy plane tickets. François, my travel agent, call me back as soon as I leave a message when I have questions to ask. Great service!

OH Boy!
I think I am going to try and pre purchase some US dollars before this trip,,news article I just read is saying that the CAD dollar could go as low as 69 cents. Hopefully this might soften the blow. ):
I do know that I will be happy being out of the cold winter weather!

I was thinking of doing the same thing for our potential trip in 2016. Getting some US $ at 76 cents is certainly better than 69 cents. It's so discouraging!

I transfer money into my US account every week. Not much, only around $50-$60. If the exchange rate is a little better that day I put in more or if I have some extra money that week it goes into the account. It doesn't hurt doing it that way.

I got tickets with JetBlue out of albany feb 26-march 6 direct for 1604.00 canadian that was great. We are about 4 hours away but it is worth the savings. Thanks for the tip!

Check if Jetblue flys to orlando and back. I got 154 rate from albany.

69 cents. Ack.
We are travelling the second week of January. I don't expect to see any significant increases in our $ so I am just going to try to finalize all of our plans, get everything booked and pay it off this month if I can. The only issue is we were waiting to see what discounts came out to decide where to stay. I guess I will book a package at a mod, payoff a good portion of it and hope I get a decent discount. Then if things have gotten worse with the CAD I will only have a bit left to pay at my 45 day mark.
I wish I could pre-pay the Universal portion too, instead of just the one night deposit.

Jetblue does fly from BUF but the fares are always as high if not higher than SW and only 2 non stops per day(one in the morning and one at night). SW offers multiple non stops spread out through the day. Plus, we are hoping to go to California next summer so I need the Rapid Rewards. With this next trip I should have enough RR built up to cover 3 one ways to Cali or maybe even 2 RT.

With the crashing dollar we might actually have to stay at DH's cousins' 1 bedroom in Cali. 4 adults in a 1 bedroom apt. :scared1:

Great! Same price as I got! We'll have a 4 hours drive too, but I prefer this than a 3800 CAD leaving from Montreal!

I just googled it and I am happy to see I am only 3:30 hours away and the long term parking is only 57 dollars. The mtrl fares were out of this world. I flew last year with airtransat for a lot less. This year you can't even touch them. Plus I hate layovers I prefer to drive to an airport and fly direct. Our options from here aren't that great.
