I am looking for flights to Miami / FLL from either Toronto or Buffalo. In 2008 I paid $986.00 USD return for the three of us from Buffalo. I am now receiving quotes of $2398.00 from Buffalo and $2078.00 from Toronto. Am I missing something??? (Besides waking up at 4 am the day Southwest opened their flights after March 9 and found that they had not as yet opened the flights and fell asleep to wake up and find everything sold..arghh!). Should I be booking or should I wait?

I went last year and flew out of Buffalo to Orlando, I think I booked around December 28th and it was $210 each taxes in... I vote wait it out

Thanks!!! I hope I can wait it out that long;)

You can sign up for price alerts on Kayak.com ... a poster on the boards (I forget who) suggested it and it's pretty good. It searches most of the major travel sites and comes up with the best price. As mentioned, it also gives the option to sign up for Daily or Weekly price alerts.

Air prices have changed dramatically since 2008. I would not wait long to book for March Break. Jet Blue and Airtran will have good direct prices out of Buffalo. I'm not a Southwest fan. I like direct flights and often need weekend flights. You pay more for this. Forget about Toronto. The taxes alone will match most US flights. We got March 7th out of Syracusse for 298 taxes in. That's the best I've seen direct. That price went up by over $100 Friday, sat and sun. So we're flying a wednesday to a Monday.

Make sure when people quote flight prices on here you get taxes in and flight times.

Thanks! I will try Kayak as well as Air Tran. Jet Blue was quite pricey as well.

We are booked for our most expensive Disney vacation yet, March 3-13th! I too was waiting for SW to open up their prices past Mar. 9th so I could book the return trip.:surfweb:

I waited one day, cause I really didn't want to book until after Xmas with the vaca. and cruise portion having to be paid in Dec. The 9:30 am flight increased by $50 then sold out. So we are now departing at 11am at the original lower price that hadn't increased yet(it is now)

If you travel alot and book with SW, and the price drops you'll get a credit towards your next flight. We don't plan on travelling again soon, but if we get a credit it will certainly give us incentive to do so!!:rotfl:

I didn't wait, too much riding on the trip and my girls would never forgive me if we missed a day!:scared1:

I should add that it was difficult for me to book early too, we went May 2009 and paid $869. for four, this flight is $1326.

I see flights with 1 stop to FLL from Buf for $300 inc taxes in March but depends which dates you are travelling?

OMG, I have not been following fares Buffalo to MCO for March, as we are going to LA in 2012 .

I heard Southwest opened up, and to go Sat Mar 10-Sunday March 18, it is over $700 per person. Air Canada and West Jet out of Toronto opened up less then that.

I am glad I kept my LA plans and bought tickets,as I thought about waiting and seeing if anything to Orlando was reasonable, and of course now the flights to LA have gone way up.

I need to start thinking about taking the kids out of school, spring break us becoming way to expensive.
