March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

I do have to say if they roll it out on March 7th as rumored I feel sorry for anyone who planned there park days around a FP type of strategy, which I know I have seen mentioned, cause now they will most likely need to try and re do there daily plans.

I told DH yesterday that I changed our eating plan for our DHS and added 50's Prime Time. He said to me tell me tomorrow, he was heading to bed

I am not going to worry about it, I truly believe he has early onset Alzheimers. A childhood friend of my DS who passed away contacted me a few weeks ago to let me know him and his GF are expecting. I told DH about it, then yesterday he says to me I think PJ and his gf must be going to have a baby they posted an ultrasound picture :headache:
it is Alzheimers or he just does not listen to me at all anymore ........ok done venting had to get that out :rotfl:

Sheila, he's male. He just doesn't listen. There's no way my DH is in early stages of alzheimers ... and he's the exact same way. Men don't listen to their wives. :lmao: (For the guys, I'm not saying it's 100%, and I'm not saying it in a negative manner. Just stating some facts, most men tune their wives out. But we love 'em anyway. :thumbsup2)

DH told me that he wanted to see Muppets 3D again in 2010. I told him many times that it was in refurb during our trip and we'd miss it. He tried to be strategic and asked me to switch park days. :rotfl2: I told him it didn't matter, as it was closed from X to Y days.

We had this discussion several times. As soon as we arrive at DHS, we get our TSM FPs and he says, "Let's go watch Muppets". :headache: It's closed. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME???" Where's the emoticon that slams her head on the desk a million times? :confused3

He's also tried to tell me stuff about my family (or Disney), and it's just repeating stuff that I've told him after he's finally seen evidence. So realize, you are not alone. I'm sure other wives can share stories, too. :thumbsup2

And I'm sure some of the guys will confess, and others will deny. But I truly think all men have selective hearing. Just most use it often, while some not-so-much. ;)

We really are not planning to do most of our park rides around FPs, which is good... Except for TSM - we will grap FPs for other rides (SM, TT, Soarin'...) but we don't plan to use them waaaay later. Our main strategy is to use RD to our advantage, and get as much done early as we can. :thumbsup2

As for my DH - he does listen - most of the time, he just likes to act like he isn't listening, so I just repeat myself on my own. LOL Then he ends up stopping me, and repeating everything I just said to prove he was listening.

Now... I can tell you all - I am only on day 4 of being his chauffeur, and I am sick and tired of it already. Even though he can't turn his head in any direction - he is the WORST back seat driver ever - and I cannot wait until he can drive again! :rolleyes1

I have lots of catching up to do.

Remember that financial survey we did in December? One of the questions it asked was how many fast passes did you have that day. I thought that was odd to have on a financial survey.

I'll be interested to see how the fast pass queue works once Nextgen is in action. Wonder how that will work with some of the GACs too?

That would be interesting on how the FP and GACs will work but have honestly found rope drop and a great touring plan trumps both. OH and Mommy finally figuring out the boy can not go on Buzz with out having a total meltdown. :lmao::rotfl:

Yeah I am a bit slow on the uptake figuring that one out but the death grip on the last trip made me finally figure that one out.:rolleyes1

Oh dear, the death grip on Buzz Lightyear? Any ideas what it is about the ride that scares him?

We have our son's sleep schedule worked around his medicine schedule. His last dose is at 10pm. He goes to bed after that. He'd never make rope drop. I'm feeling like we are doing good when we make it to an 11am ADR, lol. In fact, he just now woke up to start his day. Time for breakfast and school to start. I've been up since 6, I'm ready for lunch!!

But back to the new queues that are coming, I read last night that they are going to have stricter rules and the FP changes are to help transition.

We've always planned our day with the use of FPs. And more often than not, we use them in the window -- because we're anxious to get on the ride. :lmao: But it was nice knowing that if we wanted to save them for later, we could. And when we had Kouga & Akki, it wasn't a big deal that our Soarin' window was 11 and theirs was 5. (or whatever it was that day).

We kept FPing ST in May, but there wasn't really a need. Most everytime we went to the attraction, the wait was 20 mins or less. But we used FPs anyway, because a 5 min wait vs 20 was still nicer. :lmao:

How's Josh doing? Did you get him to the doctor?

That's an odd question for sure. But maybe they're looking to see if there's a comparison between financial status and FP use. :confused3

I don't see it affecting the GACs very much. It may alter where you wait or which line to go through, but I don't see it altering much, if anything, for your use. :goodvibes

I love RD, however, it's hard to get my crew going. DH can even see the difference RD makes, but it's not worth it to him. :sad2:

Sorry that your DS can't handle Buzz. :guilty:

I swear it is the lights and the pitch of some of the noises. So next trip we will go ride the people mover and G and C can ride Buzz.

I also think DH gets embarassed using the GAC, he hasn't figured it is there to help us.

HOWEVER.....the official rules for the GAC say to use the fast pass when available.

If they change the rules for the GAC... well I guess I'll find out for sure when we go, but I doubt it will make too much of a difference with our way of touring...since we kinda have to play it by ear!

That's how we have to do, play it by ear. We rode 1 attraction on Sunday and none on Monday. We spend all our time doing the new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game/quest.

There is alot of sensory input going on in there.

If he gets embarrassed by it, just hide it with a map, it's more discreet that way. Only the cm will see the GAC that way.

I know he does not listen but the thing is it is getting worse he is forgetting everyday things, we will get into the car and he will ask me where do you want to go first. So I say Dollar Store first then we can shoot over to Target then it Olivers last, and he drives straight over to Target and when I see what he is dong and mention it he comes back with you said you wanted to go to Target. He never was this bad.
I told him the other day I hope he does not get lost at WDW. :rotfl:

I also hate when he wants to help me do something so today he must have asked me a dozen times if he could help me when I was vaccumming so I got to the dogs corner and said if you want you can get in there for me, guess what he does? Steps right into the water dish and spills the entire thing. Some help he was :lmao:

When I still drove, I could not drive with DH in the car, so critical and of course always telling me "I drive for a living" as if that makes him a better driver.:headache:

As one of my nuns use to tell me in grade school, patience is a virture, just repeat that to yourself as he is telling you how to drive.

Come on now....you all have to know that we pick and choose what stuff we want to hear...and what stuff is just "noise". :rolleyes1

However, selective hearing does seem to worsen with age, at least in my case. Just be aware of what we are doing when you are talking to us....not during games, thats a big no no. What can we say, we're just really big kids, ok?!:thumbsup2

I am laughing about your husband and the not listening. I saw it first hand with the Buzz FP and the TTA. It still cracks me up that he rode with a different family, rofl!!! Poor guy.

Here are my thoughts which I posted on another thread this am ............

I guess if TP is reporting the "rumor" too, it must be true. It bothers me slightly since if it starts on March 7th that will be during my MK day on my March trip but I do have to wonder if the new system will make for FP being available for the more popular rides longer into the after noon and evening rather than being gone early in the day as people will no longer be running and grabbing them first thing to use later in the evening as that will no longer be an option.

People complained about the new cc guarentee for certain ADRs but are now finding it easier to book these restaurants as there is availability with people no longer "overbooking/hoarding" ADRs.

I think the same might be true once this new FP system rolls out. How great would it be to arrive at DHS past noon and find you can get a FP for TSM to use before dinnertime?

Before there were FP you either stood in line and waited and waited or you bypassed the attraction/ride and went back later, I do honestly think once they start to enforce return times the FP system will work like it was intentionaly meant to when first implemented.

I can remember being at pm EMH after 9pm @ Epcot and there still were FP to be had for Soar'in with the system the way it is now all FP would have been snatched up hours before by people who planned on returning to EP for EMH after spending the rest of their day at maybe MK or some other place.

I have to agree here. Up until our '11 trip, I didn't even know that the FP times were not enforced. We would go to get an FP and if we knew we had an ADR or something at that time, we would just wait in line instead. So while it will be unfortunate for folks who plan their day around stocking up on FPs for later use, it will be much nicer for everyone in the long run. It also will fix the problem where the FP line is as long as the standby line because everyone waited till the same time to use their FP (we waited 25 minutes in the FP line once, which was pretty much the standby wait time)

I swear, my DH and yours are one in the same. He can't help without making things worse, and he's the same way in the car. I list off places I want to go (in order) and he randomly picks one of those places.

Come on now....you all have to know that we pick and choose what stuff we want to hear...and what stuff is just "noise". :rolleyes1

Oh, my DH is the worst if he's playing a game (I know you meant watching). I have to get in front of him, block his monitor and make he look at me. I know it makes him mad, but at least I know he realizes I'm there and I'm talking. Wether he listens is a completely different story. :rolleyes1

I am laughing about your husband and the not listening. I saw it first hand with the Buzz FP and the TTA. It still cracks me up that he rode with a different family, rofl!!! Poor guy.

See! I have proof my DH doesn't listen! And it's not just to me, he doesn't listen to other women, either! :lmao:

It serves him right having to ride with another family after giving up our Buzz FPs.

I've always been pretty good at returning in the window (or close), because we're anxious to get on the ride. But I loved knowing that if I had an ADR, I didn't have to wait 2 hours (or skip) TSM. I have had days where I stocked up on FPs to use at night, and I've had days where we stalked the return time on our tickets. It's just stressful knowing that now I have to plan around a small window, when in the past, I knew it wasn't a big deal if we came later. :thumbsup2

If oopsi wouldn't leave her dadgum (in Mater's voice) soap box laying around... :lmao:

Homework has been kicking me in the tush. Hoping for an update sometime today.

I've been wondering where you disappeared to... Glad to hear you're still out there. :)
