March 2012 Rental Car?

Thanks to all for these codes. Looking for March 10 to 17 and have reserved a Mini Van with Budget for $359.27 with all the fees. Still searching for something with Alamo though as I have never rented with Budget.
Thanks again

I booked our car through National for $258 - our dates are 3/22-3/30. I used a code I got off of Flyertalk - 8572158. It is referenced as a VISA code on Flyertalk but that is all I have been able to find out about it. All other codes gave me a rate of $450. I always keep checking and checking and usually am able to reduce the rate several times before we actually travel.

Good luck!

Is that code legit? I've been playing around with rates on National for awhile now and the best I've been able to get for a full size for 3/1/-3/11 is $412. With that code, the price just dropped to $258 but I want to make sure its a valid code before I use it.

Wow, that code can't be just "VISA" because it includes a bunch of things that US renters usually pay for. I'm guessing it's an international code to have the surcharges and insurance all included.

You can get a prepaid rate inc taxes of $217.78CAN with Dollar or $228.87 with Budget for a full size. US residents can book as well.

What codes are you using for those rates? The best I've been able to get with Budget is 389 and dollar has been in the 400 range.

I am told that this code was for VISA cardholders but it is supposed to be expired on the VISA side - but it still works in the National website. It was suggested to me to use code 8572130. This is for anyone (US or international) that signs up for Air France's frequent flier program - which is free. This code gave me the same rates and seems to be more legit.

So excited with this code on National 8572158 I can get a Fullsize for 4 nights for $175.00 then if I cash in some of my discover cashback I can get a coupon for $40.00 off!!

I saw that code on Flyertalk (8572130) and tried it and it gave me a much better rate. I did google it to try to check it out and it does appear to be a promotional code for Air France flying blue members. However, it includes all the insurance options (LDW, etc) which worries me a little. I keep thinking there must be something I'm missing about this code.

I was thinking the same thing about the insurance
hope this rate isn't too good to be true! might wait a little longer!

We have never really rented a car for our Disney trip before, but want to do so this trip, but I am dropping in a dead faint over the prices I am finding - I need some serious help.

We plan to do some off site stuff this time around, so we need wheels! I think the biggest dilema is that we are a party of six, so need a mini van or large SUV. I got so excited when I saw the thread on Avis with the great SUV deal, but it only seats 5 people. ARGGHH.

Another issue, we are going from Sunday 11th to the Monday 19th, so its 8 days, not a week.

Costs are around 900 bucks or more! ACK!!!

We are costco members, I can use the code. We could alternately take magical express in from our flight, and pick up the car mid week, say on the wednesday - to save some cash - but I really wanted to do a quick grocery stop on the arrival day, and we are keen to try some off site restaurants for variety, and to save some cash.

Do they ever come out with great codes for mini vans or larger SUV's? Should I book something now to save a vehicle, and just keep changing and rebooking as new codes come out? Has anyone ever tried priceline and named their own price?

Please, someone take pity on me, and help this girl come up with a reasonable plan.

rileygirl - definitely book something. You can always cancel it!

Try autoslash.com - they continually search for the best deals for you.

Looks through mousesavers.com and try all the codes/coupons recommended

Good luck!

Thank you Connie - I am reading Mousesavers information as we speak. Its weirdly complicated process though and the variation of price is mind boggling!

Grasshopper requesting a Sensi (sorry about spelling, but I hope y'all get my meaning...)

Thanks for the tip on the Discover cashback--we're new to Discover. Can you stack that $40 coupon w/ another coupon, or is it one or the other?

TIA!:goodvibes

I just went on discover and it looks like a coupon that you can just redeem and add it somewhere when you book your car

I didn't book it yet as I am little leary that this coupon I stated above includes insurance

Well, I just did Alamo for March 15-21. Came to $315 for a midsize using a VISA code and coupon for 20% off + $30 off. Since I thought it would be closer to $400 I feel like I saved money, BUT I definitely will be watching to see if I can get a better deal as it gets closer. That's what I did last year and I ended up going from something in the $300+ area to $178. Of course, that wasn't over spring break so we'll see what happens. I really wanted to stick with Alamo because we've had good luck with them in the past and they have the online check in so you can just go pick out your car, drive to the exit, show your paperwork, and be on your way. No standing at the counter.
