Just checked National for my trip March 13-21. The rates for a mid-size (Emerald Aisle) dropped again! I'm down to $208 for the 8 days!!! This was with the coupon- ND1881JDK- and the DVC contract ID. The Wal-Mart ones (5000304 and 5504966) were only $212 for the 8 days. Hope someone else gets a little money added back to their budget!

Congrats! That's way down from where you started! We arrive the week after you, so I'm hoping next weekend I'm posting happy posts about rate drops on the cars I'm renting. Of course, you won't care because you'll be at Disney. heehee

Alamo rates for my days are going up, but I was able to shave a few more $ off my reservation by modifying my existing reservation and applying the $25 off week promo on the Alamo home page.

Out of curiosity, when you quote the rates you're getting, does it include taxes and fees or is it the base rate?

Wow, I tried my reservation again and got a minivan for the week for $200! I have a reservation for about $50 less if I use the Emerald Aisle but that won't guarantee a minivan for me. Now I can crop my $300 plus reservation for the minivan at Dollar.

That's real close to my Alamo rate ($225) but if I read correctly elsewhere Emerald Club gives free additional drivers where Alamo doesn't. I've switched for the $2 extra dollars to have the add'l driver.

What codes are you using and company? Our trip is next week March 16-23 and the rates are better this week than last week. However, you're hitting Easter week ....

Ah how quickly things change. Its amazing to do frequent checks with Alamo and see how different things look on a daily basis.

As with yesterday, my compact for late March seems to be going up every time I look. However, you know how Alamo orders the cars by price when you search? Well, it was interesting that, with no codes, a minivan was on the top of the list (actually 2nd). This doesn't do me any good, but the weekly rate for a minivan with Alamo for the week starting March 20, with no discount codes or coupons, is $199.

If you're close to that time and either have or are thinking of a minivan, I'd hop over to Alamo and see if you can do better.

That's the same base rate I got at National before the discounts for the week starting March 18.

Thanks for the heads up. What times are you using? I can't seem to access that rate...just the same car order and rates that have been going up, up, up these past weeks. Right now I have 2 midsize cars reserved for my group of 9, but a cheap minivan (or 2) might be useful.

The times I put in were 3/18 at noon thru 3/24 at 4:30 p. Still coming up at $199. (and of course you can add a coupon to lower it further).

Also, as a PP noted, National seems to be the same. Also, the "City Special" for Dollar is very similar.

Found it once I finagled with the dates and times. Extra days are a killer though...guess I'm stuck with my midsizes. Here's hoping our rates stop going up and starting going back down soon!

Received an email from Dollar this morning with a code for a mid-size SUV for $209/week or $40/day, good thru 3/31. The code is EIFAR.

The same email also had a 10% off any vehicle in Florida thru 4/30. The code for that is 2FLDE.

What Alamo or National code are you using for these rates? I'm looking at March 17-24th, all at noon, and are coming up way more than $199. I currently have a mid-size for $178 total for that time, but would love something a little roomier. Any help would be great, thanks!

Just wanted to post that my March 6-12 National rental car reservation FINALLY dropped this evening. I'm paying $103 (Total $152) for one week rental for full size (Exec. Aisle). I didn't think the price would ever drop.

Used the old favorites: 5007160 and ND1881JDK ($40)

That just goes to show how fast these rates change. For my dates, what was coming back as $199 yesterday is now coming in over $400. (And to answer your question, I didn't use any codes)

EDIT: Just went in again...for YOUR dates of 3/17-3/24, use a code of IG (which is Alamo's last minute code), you'll see Standard SUV and Full-size Crossover for $199 and Fullsize car for $164. (and you should be able to apply coupons as well)
