Anyone going on the March 20-24 Cruise? This will be the first cruise the children have been on......our 2nd cruise (Norweign Sea). We are feeling a little overwheled at the thought of doing DW in 3 days and then leaving on the cruise. Is it a pain taking the bus to the ship? We keep changing our mind on renting a van. Would love any advice on taking large families on cruises.
Thanks.

Okiemomx5,
Are you sure these are the right dates:-) Because we will be on the 4 day Wonder from 3/23/03 to 03/27/03 with WDW 03/20/03 to 03/23/03 , for the Land/Sea package.

Sorry, your right, I was adding on an extra day! (In my dreams!)
We get back on Sun, March 23.

We will be with you. This will be our third DCL cruise we have 2 DS ( 4 & 11 ). We will be at DW for three days prior. We are going to rent a car.

You are the first person I have met on here that will be on our cruise. We are beyond excited......the kids are just now getting excited, but I think it is because my dh kept changing things, and cancelling the cruise and then getting it back, he was being so fickle. But, I think it is now set in stone because we have charged the tickets for the plane!
Where are you staying? We were going in OCt and we had to push it back........and we were to stay at Caribbean then, now it's PO Riverside.
Any hints about the cruise and kids?
We were renting a car, but then decided to not rent one until after we get back of the cruise since we have to stay one night in a hotel and will want to go to Walmart and get souvineers. My friend just went and she said that is where they got their souvineers and saved lots of money. We probably ought to rent a car just to go to the grocery store and get food! Although I do plan on packing a suitcase full of food to take with us......food is cheaper here in OKLA for sure.
We also wondered about which dinner to do.........early or late. I think we are the late dinner............since we have older kids we don't have to eat super early. We have been on a cruise before, but our kids have never been on a plane let alone a cruise! :)

How old are the kids, we have the early dinner so we can get the kids to their clubs and still go out and have a good time prior to getting them to bed. There are a ton of activitys for the kids no matter the age. let me know what questions you have and I will try to answer them

Our children are boy/girl twins age 16, boy-13, girl - 11, boy - 10.

I'm not sure if they will do the clubs or not.......we'd like to eat as a family. If you eat late do you see a show before.......and if you eat early, do you see a show after you eat? That's the way it was on the Norweign Cruise.

I still feel like we need to rent a car those days we are at WDW.....but I also worry that time will fly so fast and we won't even need it........it would be nice to have it the day we go to Port......and not have to wait on the bus.

We arrive REALLY late on Sun the 16th @ PO Riverside

Debbie

If you eat late you can catch a show early, My 11 YO will be able to check him self in and out as he wants at the club, we will arrive on moday afternoon we will be with some family so we are going to rent an SUV and leave it at Avis when we board the ship. go to www.dcltribute.com for the navigators for the 3 day and your kids will ahve an idea of what there is to do. Look forward to seeing you on board.
