March 20, 2010*** Mickey's Magic Matey's Cruise the Western!***

Good : ) We have a category 9 as well so maybe we will be on the same deck?

We are on deck 2 aft, actually ALL the way aft. . . not a very desirable place by some people's standards :), but we have been there before and had a fabulous time!! I told the kids at breakfast and my daughter danced around the table singing "porthole"!

We are in for the fish extender exchange. We are in room 2026. Late dining

This will be the first cruise and first long vacation for me and my 3 year old son. I just booked the cruise yesterday and am very excited and hope the next few weeks fly by!! I even went online and booked a few things today, but noticed that they only had my son listed as eligible for the nursery. Does the Oceaneer's Club fill up? I am concerned that he won't be able to get in if that happens. I think he might get bored in the nursery!! Since we booked so late, we are scheduled for the lated dining, but I plan on just making sure he takes a late nap to help with that. Also, we are booked in a Cat 5 GTY. No clue when we would get our room assignment since we just booked. I have been doing lots of research on these boards and now am working on making sure we have everything we need (son needs almost all of the clothes since he has grown out of last years!!). I am sure I will be posting more as it gets closer and I have questions, concerns. We can't wait!!

Hi,
My family will be on the cruise as well and we are very excited for our first Disney Cruise. We have traveled on Holland America twice. We're trying the Disney Cruise this time because we saw everyone having such a great time when we were in port a couple of years ago at the same time. There weren't many children on HAL for the last cruise we took, which was the complete opposite the first time we cruised with them on a 7 night trip and why we booked again. My kids stood in front of the Disney ship after 2 days at sea with hardly any kids and together they said "we want to go on the Disney cruise", I was definitely thinking that way myself. Our cruise, not to offend anyone was 9 days in the Southern Caribbean with a much older crowd, my husband and I were 42 and 40 at the time. So we are hoping for a much more upbeat time. We're celebrating our
20th Wedding Anniversary which is actually in April and thought about having our vows renewed on board, but not sure yet, it was pretty expensive to add on. We are DVC members so we are planning to stay at Animal Kingdom after the cruise for a few nights.
Is there a planned meeting for people on the DisBoards?

I am so excited! We got the link to out Disney Give A Day Tickets today!!! YAY!!! Now I am waiting for the kids to decide between Epcot and MK for the Friday before the cruise!!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!! :cool1:

Welcome everyone! I am glad to see our group growing : ) If any of the newcomers want to join in the FE gift exchange let us know by the 20th of this month. Our cruise group does plan on meeting, more details to follow with time/place. Wow! The cruise is getting closer and closer everyday!

We are back that way too!!!

Cool! What is so funny is that I told the kids we would most likely be waking up to engine noises, the thrusters, etc. because we are so low and in the back just like last time and my son says "Alright!!!" If its mechanical, it's a good thing to him. I'm glad I have passed along to my children that it doesn't matter where you are on the boat as LONG AS YOU ARE ON!!:cloud9: 6 WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!!!

That is so great that you get to have a fun day beforehand! Have a great time!

Dawn

Michelle and Angela,

How many staterooms are we up to now for the FE exchange? I tried to go back and count 14? 15? I know we could get a few more. . .just trying to keep track of everyone!

Cannot wait for the Caribbean warmth! Snowing quite a bit here in Central Illinois!

Hey Everyone! We just booked this cruise today last minute and are very excited! :woohoo: It is me, my DH, DS(10) and DD (7).

We have cruised on the Magic before and were considering the Wonder 4 night for a different experience. But the 7 night ended up being not much of a difference in price. Hope we don't regret not getting to experience cruising on the Wonder.:confused3

We would love to join the FE gift exchange. Is there a list going yet? Haven't had time yet to read all of the posts.

Everyone, make sure that Angela or myself have everyone’s stateroom #, we have most but we are still missing a few. You can post it on thread or through a PM- which ever makes you more comfortable. Angela will send out an email closer to time with everyone’s stateroom numbers.

Please fill me in on what the FE stands for. We might want to participate.

FE stands for "fish extender". There is a fish outside of each stateroom and people hang an extender from the fish to receive gifts in. It usually something with pockets (google image search for fish extender or search the disboards and you will see plenty). Then people in the FE gift exchange group (that signed up) put a little present in every group member's extender (you will be given a list of room #'s and number/ages of people in each room). People put a gift in each FE for the whole stateroom or for each individual in that stateroom once during the trip. However you choose if fine. There are several threads on here with FE gift ideas and how to make a FE itself. If you ever get a second to look through the old post on this thread, there are pics of people's actual fish extender too. The old post might also give you a better idea of what to do than I just did too! Hope I helped?? I signed up because my kids will love getting little presents throughout the cruise! No pressure if don't want to join. Just a little extra Disney fun.

Thank you for explaining the FE gift exchange! We would love to join in on the fun.
I will send info shortly.

Welcome to all the newcomers! I feel like I am a bit obsessed because I'm constantly thinking about the cruise. . .we are a Disney obsessed family anyway (just ask all our other family members who are not!!) but the cruise coming up has us even more so! For all of you going for your first time, I hope you love it as much as we do!!

Thanks, Michelle and Angela for organizing the fish extender exchange. . .greatly appreciated!! Michelle, I sent you a PM!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi everyone! My husband and I will be on the cruise with all of you on March 20. We haven't cruised since 1993, and I am really excited. (my husband not so much - LOL!) We are from Arkansas, near Memphis; he is a semi-retired automobile dealer (Chrysler) and I am still working as a school counselor. The cruise falls during my spring break and also will include our 32nd wedding anniversary on the 26th, so that's the night I reserved for Palo's. I have been too busy to even think about this cruise, but today I realized how close it is! We are spending the Friday night before the cruise at OKW at WDW. I look forward to meeting some of you.

Michelle, thanks for adding us to the FE list and for organizing. Our kids really enjoyed the FE exchange on the last cruise and were excited to hear that we would be doing it again on the upcoming cruise. We have not been assigned a room yet, I will let you know as soon as DCL assigns us one.

What a coincidence - our anniversary is on the 25th! Congrats!!! We are also taking advantage of our school's spring break. Taking one extra day off for travel, which will be my daughter's first missed day this year (knock on wood)....

:cheer2:

I just asked my DD what was the first thing she wanted to do when we get on the ship. She said go to the kids club and eat lots of pizza. :goodvibes

This thread is more my speed. Last cruise thread there were 100 posts a day. If you missed a day you would get behind real quick. :surfweb:
