Since we cannot arrive a day early, and thus arrive from the left coast about 6 am Saturday after flying all night, we were torn about how to get to the port. On our last two cruises we took the
DCL shuttle......didn't really know of other ways to do this. I think all the alternative means of transport have cropped up in the past few years.
Anyway, the thought of a limo arrival was so tempting, but alas not too practical. So I have made arrangements with Budget for two one-way rentals. We can pick our car up as soon as we get our luggage, and drive off to the port about 7 or so. That will give us enough time at the port to visit
WalMart for sodas and bottled water, and anything else we have figured out we forgot (there is always something, isn't there?) DH will drop me and the luggage off at the terminal and scoot back over to Budget to drop the car and then rejoin me in time to enter the terminal. Since we will only have the car about 3 hours, they only charged us $15.
We'll pick up another rental at the port, visit the Space Center, drive back to Orlando and go to Downtown Disney, back to the airport to spend the night, and drop the car back at Budget Sunday morning before we catch our flight home.
This is only going to cost us $65 total for the two of us....not bad compared to other means of transport. I am glad to have the reservations made and confirmed....we don't have all that much longer to wait.
I keep putting all the little "things" for the cruise in one bureau drawer, and reminding my DH not to let me forget where I'm putting them!
