We are so excited to cruise on the Dream for Spring Break again! We booked on board last week. Still enjoying the memories from last week but now also looking forward to next year. We participated in the FE gift exchange, which is so much fun. We had a good size group 11-12 cabins. If you are cruising for the first time on the Dream or on Disney, I'd be happy to answer questions. We sailed the wonder in 2009 as well. Let the planning begin.

Hello Everybody! If anyone is interested in participating in the Fish Extender gift exchange please send me an EMAIL---not a PM. (easier for me to organize this way plus we have some new members that may not be able to PM yet) Please put Disney Dream FE as the subject.

Information needed-please supply as much as possible....
(the ONLY reason I am requesting ages, names AND gender is because some people like to make home made items and some like to get specific to ages and gender--some even include names)

Cabin Number-DISname- Last name
Adult Names
Child Names,Ages,Genders

Remember EMAIL me the above information.....
My name is Anoush, here is my email:
tee-tee@comcast.net

I will put together a list as soon as possible and plan on CLOSING sign up on February 5. That will give people plenty of time to put stuff together, it also gives time to get it done so you can mail the stuff to the boat if needed the week before. If more people join after that, perhaps another group can be started.
Also there is a suggestion about making the FE list a google doc. I have not done this before so if you know what needs to be done or an easier access besides me emailing the list to your home email address let me know.

Remember the FE is supposed to be fun. If you choose to participate you agree to deliver a gift to each room and may also supplement with individual gifts (especially for kids) to each person in the cabin. FE gifts may be home made, from dollar stores, candy, memorobilia from your hometown, Disney etc.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

How many rooms and family are traveling with you? We will have one room on deck 10 Me, my DH, and 3DDs. They will be 9, 7 and 6 at sailing. Looking forward to more Aquaduck time and the detective mystery game.

We have 2 rooms on deck 8 connecting. Family of 5 also. Kids will be 13, 11, and 8 at time of sailing. (the youngest is a boy).

For this sailing, we chose space over verandah. We have the family size stateroom so we should have plenty of space this trip. :)

I just looked online and the cruise appears to be filling up...so I would think someone else would join us on the DIS.

The group we are sailing with has more cabins as well, but I don't know if they will choose to do FE or not.

Joining in! This will be our 8th DCL cruise, but first on the Dream. Very excited! It will be just myself and DH, we are doing a b2b and celebrating our 20th anniversary. We just booked this while onboard the Wonder.

B2B means 9 days onboard -- you are one lucky :donald:!

OOoooooh yeah! It's our 20th anniversary present to each other. Our kids are none too happy not to be on the Dream with us, either! If it wasn't a cross-country flight, we'd have them for part of the b2b trip. But, who's going to get them from the airport and then the port, or from the port back to the airport. So sorry kids, home with Grandma you are!

Well, what a nice anniversary present. I was on the Dream in January/Feb without my family and missed the kids a lot. But it would have been tolerable with my DH there! It seems to me that the Dream has more dedicated adult space than the Wonder and Magic (but maybe it's because the January cruise was my first without kids.)

Well, a few years ago we decided rather than "stuff" we'd prefer to spend our money on "time". Life is uncertain and I'd rather say we went here, we did that , as opposed to items in the house or clothing on the rack, so to speak. I am so glad we started cruising a few years ago when we did! Our DD was then 11 and in 6th grade...now she's 14 and starting high school in a few months. We realized time is running short with her at home. We do family roadtrip vacays to the grandparents' lake house in the summers... but DCL is just for the 4 of us.

Except, when it's not! :rotfl: We figured that lots of people don't make it to their 20th anniversaries... we should celebrate that! And enjoy that time together. We always have taken vacations just the two of us, when the kids were little it was a weekend getaway here and there, and for our 10th, 15th, 20th we're a week on our own! Can't wait to explore the Dream and get to know the ship. We know the Wonder and Magic so well, it's hard to imagine that we'll love another ship as much as we love the Wonder.:hippie:

What did you like best about the Dream?

your celebration of 20 years just may be (in part) because you choose to spend time with each other. a wonderful way to celebrate your life!

Congrats on the 20th anniversary! Our 10th will be on new years day.
Our favorite part of the Dream versus the Wonder is the Aquaduck and the artwork that comes to "life".
Our absolute favorite part of DCL cruising is Castaway Cay! I wish we could B2B but the 9 days is too long with the kids and they would miss school. If they had the 3 day following this cruise we would have done it. Instead, we are staying at WDW before and after in the Treehouse Villas and hope to catch a Braves game.

Hi! I'm sailing on the cruise also with 25+ other friends/family! I think we have either 7 or 8 cabins total in our group.

Looking forward to seeing the Dream, I cruised on the Wonder 5 years ago.

Edited to add:

In my cabin, it's me and my dd who will be 6 at the time we sail.
My sister and two nieces (6 & 12) have the adjoining cabin next to us.
- Both our hubbies have elected not to go:confused3
-- we are on Deck 8.

Then my parents and other sister, her husband and my nephew (4) will be adjoining on Deck 7.

We all have large porthole rooms, I am still getting used to the idea. I've sailed two times before (one with Disney, one not) and had a balcony both times, I'm worried I'll miss it.

we have a family stateroom with the really large porthole windows...ANd I've sailed in balcony, inside, and oceanview staterooms. You may miss the balcony some, but I think you'll enjoy being on the cruise more!

We're on deck 8 also. It's too bad that your parents and sister cannot be on the same deck. Things sure have sold quickly over the last few weeks so the availability was limited.

Glad to have you with us. This is going to be a funtabulous cruise!

We will be on this cruise too!!! It will be myself, DH, DD(7) & DD(3). This will be our 2nd cruise, but first one where both of the kids are old enough to do all the kids activities!!!

Woohoo! I bet your kids and YOU will love it!! Plus, the kids clubs on the Dream look AMAZING! My kids wish they were smaller again and could go in those clubs.

Of course, they wish we were taking them on the Dream, period...:rotfl:

On my recent Wonder cruise, I went to Wavebands to check on dining when we boarded. I had requested our favorite server ever, Louis from India- only to be told he's now on the Dream!! Boy am I hoping he will still be on there next March. We've never had a bad server at all- but nobody compares to Louis! My whole extended family still talks about Louis. :thumbsup2

Welcome to the group! Looking forward to the cruise. My husband ordered cruise calendars from Shutterfly using our pics from last month's cruise. They arrived today so our countdown calendars are here. We even took a picture of the room we booked so that is our March 2012 pic.
Your kids will love the Dream's Oceaneer's Club and Lab.

My wife and I will be celebrating our 14th on board. This'll be our 3rd DCL cruise.
