March 17th weekend weather

We are leaving Friday and I must admit I am bummed that the weather is going to be so cold. I can deal with the rain but the cold stinks. I would never have thought I would be leaving 70+ degrees in Illinois to go to 50 degrees in California. It sure will feel strange wearing a heavy coat in DL. We are used to going to WDW in September when it is 85-90 degrees.

Of course we will make the best of it and I am sure we will still have a fabulous time.

I told our 5 year old said " oh well at least it's Disney Rain"

Aren't you used to cold and wet?

I imagine it will be a cold time in the parks. Fireworks canceled. Good amounts of rain will drive away crowds. Terrible crowds on the next sunny day if it's been raining.

lol, yes I am very use to cold and wet, currently its 35 here and wet snow. We don't see very much sun here in the winter and it rains a majority of the time. Was looking forward to some warm California Sun. Looks like our last couple days may be decent, but rain and cool is no big deal, as long as im in Disneyland it doesnt really matter to me. We are staying at HOJO and just hoping the kids get to enjoy the water park for a few days.

Love the perspective of a child. So true.

We have never been to Disneyland and thanks to tv commercials she been begging for a year ( she's almost 6) and we surprised them ( also have another daughter who will be 3 in 3 weeks)yesterday with some gifts to take on the plane and a t shirt of princesses. They have been bouncing singing and imagining every waking second. It even has their very manly daddy chomping at the bit to get going! We are going to have a blast. We have hoodies, sweats and rain gear so it's game on!

We will be there.. It will be warmer than home, so Yeah :thumbsup2
Lighter crowds because of rain is fine by me. We are used to the wet stuff... but I was really hoping to get my sunshine fix.
Thanks for the ShamWow tip.
I need to go take all the capri pants out of my suitcase ;)

So, I am assuming no World of Color in the rain. Is that right?

Looking at the forecast in the link I provided before, here is my rainy days forecast.
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...051696777&site=riw&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text

With it being Spring break and this storm happening over a weekend it could be good and bad.

Friday for better or worse the Friday forecast went from rain likely to unlikely as the storm isn't coming until night. With luck it will be raining by 5pm, is may sound funny, but what this means is locals won't show up to make a very busy Friday night.

Saturday is looking to be the lowest wait time day of Spring Break. If it's raining in the morning few are going to show up making for a slow day. With this high likelyhood of rain it's possible F! won't run as rain can cancel that night show.

Sunday could be bad, if it's sunny in the morning it could get very crowded if rain kept the crowds out the day before. If it's rainy probably small crowds as some will be ending their trip and already missed a day will go anyway, but some will stay in if they are locals or on a longertrip.

Monday could be bad with a small chance of rain or very busy if it's the first reasonable day.

Tuesday should be back to the normal crowds if Monday has light on and off showers and people went back to the park. If not the mostly sunny forecast will bring in tons of crows stuck inside the last few days.

Rain can cancel the parades. It's not in the forecast but wind often comes with rain and may cancel the fireworks.

Attractions that close during rain are in this list.

Disneyland Park
•Alice in Wonderland
•Dumbo the Flying Elephant
•Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
•The Mad Tea Party
•Gadget's Go Coaster

Disney California Adventure
•Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

I don't know about no WoC if it rains, I would imagine it would depend on how hard it's raining. It might be amazing, if no one wants to stand there and wait it may be extremely non-crowded. :)

I love how everyone is using my shammie suggestion!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! Handwarmers are a GREAT idea!! They really work to keep your hands warm. :)

What are hand warmers?? Where would I get one. It is in the mid 80's here. I don't know where I would even find one. LOL :)

I'm originally from Phoenix...I so miss the heat and sunshine! Check the sporting goods stores, such as Sports Authority, Big Five, etc. They usually carry them.
