March 17, 2012 Disney Magic Western Carribean

SOOO very excited :cheer2:to be going on this cruise with my DD Lucyprincess:! She is 7 and I am surprising her with it for Spring Break. I even have her teacher in on it, to help me cover having to get a passport for her. :rotfl:
I'm sort of hoping to find out if there will be any other single parents on the cruise.. It would be nice to find some adults to hang out with while she is off in the Kids Club/Lab, lol.
1st time Disney Cruiser Q: What are "fish extenders"?

anybody thinking about excursions yet?

I have looked at them, sizing up the "$Best Deals$" but not sure what to book with just my DD:cutie: and I... plus I'm surprising her, so I'm scared she may not like what I choose and want to do something else.... :confused3

From what I gather you and others agree to buy little things such as candy, tattoos, other gift ideas from where you live and exchange them in a mail type of system (typically made) which hangs on a little fish outside your cabin.. See a couple of earlier posts with links regarding them... Again, this is my first cruise with DCL and might not have all of this correct...

Also, I have a daughter that just turned 8...

Oh, well that sounds great and Lucy will love collecting little things to take to represent Oklahoma! Lucy will turn 8 in May 2012, so the girls may have some fun together! Yay! :thumbsup2

Hello everyone,

we are considering switching to this cruise....currently we are booked on the June cruise from New York, but it won't be a good time for my husband to take the time off, since work situation has changed.. So now we want to surprise the kids with this cruise since this is our March break. The only cabins available are category 5B....Please convince me it is a great deal....It is only $300 more than the NY cruise (category 11B) but we do get a verandah and loose a night....

I am in a process of contacting my TA to see if she could switch our deposit from one cruise to another or will I have to cancel and rebook. So I will know in the next couple of day for sure if we are going!

Hi-
We will be joining for our family's first ever cruise, first Disney cruise- me, husband Phil, twin girls Maddy and Emma (6) and youngest daughter, Cora (3).
Can't wait!

We would love to get in on the FE! Myself, hubby Phil, twin daughters (6) Maddy and Emma, and youngest daughter, Cora (3). Our first cruise- can't wait!

Our girls are about the same age (Lucy is/will be 7) and this is our first cruise too! We should definitely be in an FE group.... Getting so excited everytime I get on here, lol!

It doesn't look like anyone is in charge of the FE list. If there are no objections, I can put a list together of everyone who will be participating.

That's what we are doing, we are doing the big reveal for Christmas.. :santa: .Will be doing a scavenger hunt (she loves these) around the house for her big "present", the cruise! :woohoo:

Has anyone thought about excursions while on our cruise? I heard Tulum is nice but very long day and a long time to get to the ruins... Has anyone else heard this as well? Also, traveling with an 8 year daughter... Not sure if she will enjoy this (I believe our 13 year old son will?)

Hi everyone! We will be on this cruise, and are very excited to be visiting the Western Carribbean for the first time! We will be on the March 10th Eastern Carribbean sailing, and staying onboard for a back to back adventure! :cool1:

We were originally supposed to sail in January, but have unfortunately needed to move that cruise since I will be finishing up my dissertation right around that time (yay for finally being done with graduate school!!) I'm looking forward to the warmer weather that a March cruise will bring!

Please sign us up for the Fish Extender list, and thank you for organizing that.

~Vicky (30) and Alissa (who will still just barely be 29 at the time of the cruise... I'm sure she'll be clinging to every second of those last few weeks in her 20s! :rolleyes1 )

Yes, I heard Tulum is a VERY long day...I would like it, but not sure if the kids would enjoy it...My dd will be 12 at the time and DS will be 8.

Haven't checked out the cruise lately and just noticed that your twins are the same age as my DD and we apparently live fairly close. Great!

We were on the Magic in August in the Mediterranean and loved it!
