I just wrote out a schedule between now and when we leave the 14th and its crazy here! Sooooo much packed in next week. I'm hoping to start packing sunday evening after work so I can figure out if there's anything we need I'm forgetting.
I'm planning on doing the 5K on castaway cay. Usually the 5Kers meet in one of the lounges that morning and go off together. There's no charge but they do limit it to 200 people and you have to be 10 and up to participate. It looks like you can sign up at guest services or port adventures anytime. I'm excited for it....and you get a mickey medal! !
I don't run. Is it acceptable to walk the 5K? Or is it more of a competitive/running only 5K?
Meredith,
We are from St. Augustine FL. What about you?
My brother did the Americas Cup Regatta in St. Maarten and loved it but did not have kids. We are doing the Trolley in Key West then walking around. We signed up for the Jeep Exploration in Cozumel.
We have my mom with us and she gets around great but not sure of her adventure level.

I'm certainly not competitive, but will try to remember to sign up with guest services. I'm also used to running in the "hot" weather, so that shouldn't bother me as much, especially with a 5K. I run/walk intervals 3/1's. Better for my troublesome IT band. Looking forward to it!
Woohoo! We are into single digits for the number of days until the cruise! We actually had a bit of snow this morning, which was totally unexpected. I just thought we were getting some freezing rain last night.
BTW, here's a recent CC 5k report: https://littlemoreeachday.wordpress.com/2015/02/10/castaway-cay-5k-2015/ I love the medal too!![]()
Yay! Sounds like there will be a few of us trying to earn that Mickey medal. I definitely prefer to run early if possible. Thanks Nike4000 for helping me get my 10 posts in.
If anyone wants some light reading here are the PN's for a recent Magic sailing...

I do too!!!(Meanwhile, I do have the DCL chime on my phone to notify me of texts, so I just imagine my own announcements, LOL!)
Getting to the port early will help your chances. I believe the policy is everyone needs to be there to check-in, but i've also heard of people who are allowed to check-in their whole family by showing their PP's and such. Although they take photo's of everyone when you check-in, so i'm not entirely sure how the latter option would work.Getting excited (and trying to hit 10 posts).. Any tips for improving my chances of an upgrade? Arrive early, arrive late? Can I check in alone, or do I need my whole family there?
I do too!!!![]()
