March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

WOW!!! Nike4000, thanks so much for doing the first FE list. So easy to find everyone and a work of art too! :jumping1:

The FE list on page one has been updated. The pixie dust has already started for members of the first group, as Nike4000 has generously created an amazing graphic of the Magic decks and plotted everyone's staterooms -- all the better to help get our treasures from room to room! If you are in this first list, and do not yet have your 10 posts, come on to the boards and tell us how excited you are. As soon as you hit 10, I can send you the list.

ANK and your friends, if you're out there, please send me your info for the latecomers list.

I will be bringing copies of the lists, including my own boring non-Mickey versions, to the meet and greet on Sunday afternoon. I will be late because we will be attending the DVC Members' meeting, but I will be there!! DD is planning to connect with some other teens and then head to the Vibe so they can get their cards.

I think I will also keep some copies of the lists available in a pocket of our fish extender, just in case you can't make the gathering and still wish to have a copy.

Which company are you guys looking at? Neither one of us is certified and Cozumel Cruise Excursions has three scuba options (discovery, one tank, and two tanks); but none of them specify that previous certification is needed. When I was a teenage I went on a diving trip while in Mexico and so I'm not overly concerned about the lack of a requirement for certification; but I'd prefer to know that the company is on the up-and-up.

Sorry, I got my ports mixed up. We are scuba diving in Grand Cayman, but in Cozumel we are doing the Dune Buggy & Snorkel. I would encourage you to look on PADI's website for a reputable dive company if you aren't going to go through Disney. We researched it several ways: through the PADI site, on the disboards, and TripAdvisor to get a feel for reputable companies. One of DH's co-workers is a Dive Instructor who recommended some places in Grand Cayman. With the lack of certification, Discover Scuba sounds like your best option; the reputable companies won't allow a non-certified diver to do more than that.

That's what I leaning towards. Thanks :)

Please double check my work on the map & list - hopefully I flagged your stateroom accurately and put the right people in the right places. If you see anything that needs to be updated or important notes to be shared with the group, let me know ASAP!! Enjoy!

Like papertraveller, I will bring copies with me just in case.

Also, it's been mentioned here before, but if you do upgrade your room or move for any reason, please let the people in the group know! On our last cruise, a family upgraded and failed to notify anyone. After the cruise they blasted the entire group for not delivering to their room. Plenty of apologies came after they realized the mistake (DH thought DW let people know, DW thought DH...), but the entire issue could have easily been avoided with some quick phone calls (or even a note in everyone's FE).

Okay, I felt bad that I hadn't done Group 2 as well, so I created one for that group. I'm still waiting on stateroom numbers for @ank and friends, but otherwise it should be good to go. I'll supply the final document to @papertraveller when finished for posting.

I'm not creating one for the Pixie Dust list, you'll just have to add them to your sheet manually. Sorry! I didn't know a good way to add those two staterooms without them looking strange. I'm definitely open to suggestions!

Is there a DISBoard cruise meet onboard? I didn't get accepted to the FB page so late in the game but would hate to miss out on a pre-arranged meet. :)

Yes there is a meet up it is at 3 PM in the promenade lounge. :)
Thanks! I feel rather out of the loop on this cruise; first one I haven't been responsible for planning something for the groups but very excited to be onboard!!

@nicis, have you asked papertraveller to add you to the last pixie dust group? DD is very excited about making FE, so i hope the group grows or we get adopted by the second group.:tink:

I just scheduled my pedicure! After a long winter, my feet are icky, so if I'll be wearing sandals, I need this pedicure!

Thanks for organizing this papertraveller, Nike4000 and anyone else that I'm missing! (Will do my best to get my 10 posts in!)

You are more than welcome. Working on that map is just one way for me to expend my cruise-related anticipation energy. How are your cruise preparations coming (trying to give you something to post about!)?

We are very excited! I am in the midst of trying to finish up making the FE gifts. I'm a first-timer to this, so hopefully it will go smoothly. Haven't begun to think about packing yet and what we still need. Nike4000-looks like you are in Allen, TX?? My brother lives in Frisco. Heard another ice/snow storm was headed your direction again. Boo!

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered, but does anyone know how they handle upgrades for luggage? We were originally assigned an Oceanview room and then upgraded to a 7A GTY (which was assigned this week). The luggage tags they sent obviously have our old stateroom numbers. When I spoke to the DCL agent she said just to cross that out and to write our new number on them. But see as how they have a barcode, does that actually ensure that they'll be delivered to our new room?

Yep, today we woke up to a winter wonderland. How about you? Where are you guys coming from?

We are from Sunny South Florida! Jensen Beach, to be exact. Less than a 2 hour drive to Port Canaveral for us. Sorry to hear about the snow AGAIN, however I hear that it's supposed to be 70 degrees soon? You have to be loving all of that fluctuation in temp!
