March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

What's everyone doing for excursions now that we have so many new folks....we are doing a trolley tour on/off on our own in Key West, Botswain marine park through DCL in Grand Cayman, Dolphin encounter for DD3 and I and Dolphin swim for DH and the older kids at Chankanaab park in Cozumel and we have nothing planned on CC.

We are going scuba diving in Grand Cayman, doing the dune buggy/snorkel in Cozumel (I was outvoted by DH & DD; I wanted to do Xplor park), and the rigid hull snorkel at CC. DH isn't a fan of Key West so I doubt that we'll even get off the ship that day.

3Goofys, when I was doing research on possible excursions, I did see that it was cheaper to buy passes to Xplor than going through DCL. The difficulty was trying to coordinate getting there, but it was possible and had read about some people who had done it that way. Since I got outvoted, I didn't get much further than that. :-)

It turns out I need brain surgery. I hope I can postpone it until after the cruise, so I can go. If I do go, I'll be the person with purple in my hair. I figure if it is going to be cut off, I might as well have fun with it in the mean time. I just hope the headaches subside a bit so I can have fun.

Oh goodness Bearybear I am so sorry to hear that!!!! How scary for you! Praying for good health and that you are able to go and enjoy the trip!!!

I am new to DIS and just booked our cruise today ( 7 day Magic on March 15th). We don't know our room yet either. This is a mother daughter trip and I would really appreciate it if we could join a FE. March 17th will be my birthday I will be 29 and my DD is 6. This is a very special trip as it couldn't of been possible with out my father who passed away Dec 19th. So with my insurance money I am spoiling his little girls. The FE gifts would be extra special for me and my DD.

fingers crossed for a group!

Welcome Dcheftimmins! You will find that this is a wonderful way to celebrate your father and all he did for his girls!

It does sound soooo very cold up there. Down here by the lake we're about -5, and there is more snow in the forecast.

As for the FE, I am happy to create a latecomers list and will put you on it. I'm still waiting to hear confirmation from mbm1014. I'm also happy to join you there, as we won't be preparing/finalizing our gifts until next weekend at the earliest. (I do think we will get more people, because I see quite a lot of availability on this cruise still. Must say I suspect this is because Disney, in its wisdom, put the Fantasy and Magic on essentially competing schedules. It seemed an odd choice to me.)

Please stay in touch so we can figure out how to relay your stateroom number to everyone who participates in that group.

Stay warm!

I'm so sorry to hear you need surgery Bearybear! I am sending your positive thoughts and hope you stay in good health. I would love to see your purple hair, but also with you feeling well!

Did anyone sign up for Xplor park, or xcaret, or xel-ha in Cozumel? We chose our excursion, and we're happy with it, but wanted to check availability for those other ones (just in case we changed out minds) and they are all gone! I wouldn't have thought they would be very popular given the higher ages and extensive travel time. Did anyone see them offered early on?
They were definitely on there when I booked. I considered them as well but went with different excursions.

Praying for you. I love purple hair.

We have not booked anything for Key West was reading on Trip Advisor and found that they have a great Firehouse Museum ( The DS (15) is in his first year of Fire Academy ) and then probably the Coast Guard Maritime Museum too. For Grand Cayman we are going to Boatswain's. In Cozumel we booked the beach break water park and for Castaway Cay maybe just rent a couple of floats.

In Key west we were't going to do anything but then I found out about a boat trip that goes out to look at sharks! My girls were very interested so I think we are going to try it. In Grand Cayman we are doing the saltwater forest (mangrove ecosystem) and in Cozumel we are doing Discover Mexico. We might try snorkelling at Castaway Cay -but mostly plan to relax.

I did hear that it is not a necessity to book anything in Key West. Just getting off the boat there is lots close to do.

Is there a tea party that is often offered onboard? I think I read that this is something you need to book when you first get on the boat. Anyone know anything about this?

We didn't do names on our gifts the first time but I've made tags this time. Our last time participating about 3/4 did.

I had read no character breakfast and no tea on the Magic :(

We are doing the Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour and the Grand Cayman Island Tour. Has anyone done either of these? I have been researching a bit and I haven't seen any feedback. We are four adults so we are hoping for a little information on the place as well as a little fun. Hopefully, we will get it with these tours. We are getting very excited!!

Anyone see the post on the cruise board today that they are offering a character breakfast on the Magic again?! The lady said you have to get tickets at the port adventures desk just like for the princess gathering and the Anna and Elsa meet. She said it was Disney junior characters like Doc, Sofia, jake. Since I have a 3 year old this is exciting news!
