March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

I really dont want to step on anybodys toes. Did anyone else begin tracking who is in for FEers? Please let me know.
Seems as though our group is growing... Spring Break will be amazing.

Thanks everyone.

HI Rebecca,
So glad to have you "on board!" It's great to live so close and not have to pay for airfare. Let us know if you are wanting to participate in FE'rs. We can add you to the bunch if so. :thumbsup2

Yes we would LOVE to. Our last cruise we had over 79 cabins participating. :scared1: But it really was fun :dance3: Literally had to bring one FULL extra suitcase just to bring all the FE's with us :rolleyes1 Does anyone know what excursions they are looking at doing? We usually don't get off the ship in Cabo..NOT our fav port. :sad2: We usually do excursions on our own...but am gonna look for an ATV group if we can..We did an ATV tour in St. Marrteen and had a BLAST :cheer2::cheer2: Our girls still talk about it :woohoo: Can't wait to hear what everyone else is doing. Happy Saturday all. :flower3:

Actually after I posted I went online and found a really cool tour..and even though it IS in Cabo..we wouldn't be around all the party people. And best of all they will let Jennah drive her own. :cheer2::cheer2: And its a really good price. I am gonna post to see if anyone else has had any experience wih them and also check cruisecritic. In St. Marrteen the whole tour was just DIS folks...so if any of you would be interested let us know...it would be very cool :upsidedow Will let you know what I find out.

This is so odd I replyed to your post and sent a link to the website but my post never showed up :confused3 So will try one more time :thumbsup2 Here is the link for the Cabo ATV tour. Would be really cool if a few of us could do it. :goodvibes http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/About-Us.htm The link for the tour is on the left hand side of the page. Let me know what you think. ;)

We'de LOVE to do this! But which one did you book the 3 hour or the 5 hour tour? I think that 5 hours is a little long for an ATV ride. We quad and that is ab bit much. But just wanted to see if you were doing the 3 hour tour. Anyone else want to go?:thumbsup2

We really like the places that the 5 hour tour goes. And it includes lunch..so the actual ridding time is only 3 hours on and off. But if alot of us wanted to go and everyone else only wanted to do the 3 hour one..then I might be able to change my family's minds. :rotfl::thumbsup2

Hi Gang! I am still in post cruise mode that I did not think to come over here yet.

My wife and I just returned from a 3/13 Eastern on the Magic. While on board, we rebooked for this cruise on the West Coast.

Oddly enough, we asked for the lowest level with a split bathroom and voila we ended up with a secret porthole room in 5520. I was pleasantly surprised at that. We walked by the cabin on the Magic and I thought something fishy was up with the "Inside" cabin on the outside of the ship. After consulting the deck layouts and some reviews online, I confirmed what I suspected. Nice surprise.

My wife will be 32, I will be 40 (that's hard to type!) and daughter will be 9 (her birthday will be the day of embarkation!). We live in Texas and this will be a Spring Break cruise for us as of course school is an issue for my daughter, but my wife is also a kindergarten teacher.

We too are considering an ATV excursion as we just did one on St. Maarten as well. It was a fun ride and since our daughter missed out, she will love it this time I am certain. I was kind of hoping to do that in PV, but Cabo does seem to have a nice one.

We were thinking of taking a water taxi over to Lovers Beach and the arches at Cabo, but we'll weigh the pros and cons. Sara and I took a cruise on Princess with this itinerary a while back and know the cold water temps that time of year, so swimming is not likely on the agenda, but boating can certainly be fun!

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you as time progresses. It will be here sooner than we know!

Now back to finishing that latest trip report!!

Hi Scott and family - welcome to this meets thread. I see you are in Euless. We live in South Arlington (right at Arlington/Mansfield border). How cool that we will be on the same cruise. Our daughter will be 11 at the time of the cruise.
I think we have one of the SPH rooms too....I'll have to check with DH on that one to be sure. And it is our Spring Break cruise as well. Didn't feel comfortable pulling DD out of school like we used to since she will be in 5th grade. And I work for the school district so it is better that I go during Spring Break as well.
Looking forward to getting to know you and the other March 13, 2011 cruisers.

:welcome: Scott and family to the Fiesta party: One of our DD's would have just turned 12 rigjt before the cruise [day after Christmas to be exact] and would love to get to know your dd before the cruise. It will be cool if she can join the ATV tour...why didn't she go on the one in St. Marrteen? Our girls :lovestrucLOVED:lovestruc it, they still talk about it. I was telling DH that you guys are tossed up between the two and he asked "well, what are we doing in PV?" And I was like "not sure" and he says "is there an ATV tour there?" I tell him yes..so now he wants us to do both :rotfl::rotfl: told my girls and they are soooo on board. :cheer2::cheer2: In Mazitlan we will most likely rent an open aired :car: taxi for the day and do our own tour. :woohoo: We are getting so excited. School is almost out, then the whole summer..then next thing you know school is back in, then the holidays..when they are finally over..Whamo the cruise will be here :yay::yay: Well, i've got to go finish some laundry. :laundy: enjoy your evening all :goodvibes

Aliron - you ARE close! I used to live in central Arlington and grew up in Burleson..so I know the area reasionably well!

My wife too works as a Kindergarten teacher (this year - she's hoping for a new position next year that I won't mention and jinx it!).

As for why our daughter did not ATV in St. Maarten is because she did not cruise with us - so she gets her turn this time!

We also found ATV adventures in Mazatlan as well (Stone Island) so if that sort of excursion is what we want, I am sure we can find a suitable scenario.

It is a daunting countdown number - but it will go quickly. I am convinced that the older I get, the faster the clocks run.

Happy Easter weekend all...

Please count us in for the FE as well. We did it on the last cruise and had a ball other than one box that was sent down with FEgifts in it went to the wrong people (cruise before us).

We have been really busy and havent been on so can someone point me to the kids thread for our group so my son can join. TIA

Well something got me to thinking maybe I might move this trip to another time. Sadly the price is right for this cruise and the time but then thought Hello we r going to be in mexico during spring break. Not sure if I want to deal with drunk partying college kids. Has anyone thought of this or have any ideas. I'm getting a little worried.

I thought of this too... But I am really not concerned. If I dont like it, Ill move and go back to the ship... It is worth the price to me, and the time the kids wont miss school. Pros totally weigh out the cons on this one. IMO. :goodvibes

Allison. Scott,

We are your neighbors as well. We live in Euless, TX. Small world huh?

My daughter is currently in 4th grade and 10 years old, but will be 5th grade and 11 at the time of the cruise.

My son will be 6 and in Kindergarten.

Yep, it is our Spring Break as well. That is why we picked it. We also are in a Secret Porthole Room!

I'm a little worried about the weather being cool and the water cold....but it will be nice to try some new ports. Plus, I haven't been to LA in about 20 years so that will also be something different!

Sounds like there will several girls my DD's age for her to play with. That always makes the cruise go better!

We went on a 7 day Magic cruise in October to St. Croix. We decided it was a poor decision to have pulled her out of school. We decided to stick with school breaks from now on. Spring Break fit our needs and the price is good.

:goodvibes

Wow - now this really IS a small world!

Another cruiser from Euless - to put it in terms most would understand, Euless is a small city of about 40,000 - so not a lot of us out there! What are the odds that this would occur.

OK - at the risk of boring the rest of the board - we are in north Euless - near Mid Cities and Fuller Wiser streets.

VERY unique!

As for partying in Mexico - I would only imagine we run into anything in Cabo. PV and Mazatlan would not be very Spring Break friendly I would not imagine. My only concern about this itinerary and time was cold ocean waters. And that is just something we figure we won't get to utilize. We've cruised February on the west coast before. Very cold ocean water - but the pools are quite usable on board the ships with pleasantly warm weather!

I was really surprised to read you were from Euless as well Scott!

We live in South Euless..not too far from Euless Main and Trinity Blvd. My son's preschool isn't far from you.

That is wild!

I'm sure my daugher will love meeting your 9 year old.

I don't think partying Spring Breakers will be much of a problem in Mexico. Now, I cruised about 3 yrs ago on Spring Break (Celebrity) and the college agers on Spring Break WERE definitely a problem but we were all confined together on a ship...no escape. (After that we swore we'd never cruise again on Spring Break unless it was Disney)

In Mexico, we'll be spread out. If you go by a Senor Frogs or Margaritaville type....well sure...but on most of the excursions we'll be doing...I don't think it will be an issue.

This is exactly why we normally NEVER get off in Cabo. But I figure the party crowd will not want to spend there extra drinking dollars on an ATV family tour. And with this tour allowing our girls to drive..it is a big deciding factor to get off in port This will also be our spring break. I have home schooled for the past 3 years, but Jennah will start a private Christian High School this coming August and we don't want to pull her out during school. :goodvibes

As for all the Texas people :thumbsup2 I grew up in Fort Worth, my sister was born there. Her dad was born and rasied in Euless, both his parents are buried there, and he now lives in North Richland hills and put in 35 years at Bell Helicopter. Very small world :lovestruc

College students are strongly discouraged from traveling to Mexico for breaks any more due to the violence in the country. I believe a great deal of the students, if they do go, stay within close proximity of the border since they tend to travel down via vehicles and not airplanes.

I'm not worried about spring breakers in Mexico, personally!

I haven't been around on the boards too much these days. Kind of been busy with school :surfweb:. I did pour myself a cocktail last night and drank it out of one of our DCL drink glasses from the ship. For a moment, I felt like I was back on the ship!!!

Well thanks for all of the responses. We too are in Texas. We went on the Nov St croix cruise as well. Also took my son out of school. It was a surprise trip for his 10th birthday. Will not do that again!!!!! Our family has decided to still take this cruise and not worry about the partying. I dont think that much will be going on during the day while we r at port and the excursions disney will be offering. It has been discouraged for spring breakers to not go to mexico but they still go anyway. They sure did this spring break. If we dont feel comfortable we will just get back on the ship. There is more than enough to do there.

Hope everyone is doing ok.
