March 13-17/05 Wonder

Couldn't have said it better myself!!

We're the fools who leave Florida wearing shorts
to eek out every last moment of warmth and sun we
can and then land at home to 20F. LOL

I really hate the cold!

Look how close we're getting!!! 66 days, WOW!! :earseek:
I've got the Dolphin excursions booked for everyone, I hope it is
SO WARM in Nassau!! I may have been a lizard in a previous life, this cold weather is making me want to hibernate!

I can hardly wait!!!! Each disney vacation seems like our first, about 2-3 months out we get SO anxious we can hardly stand it!

We went to nassau in june last time and it was SOOO hot. They said it doesn't change much, maybe 10 degrees in either direction year round. The humidity shouldn't be as bad this time around tho. If the dolphin excusion is anything like the one we did on antigua, you will have tons of fun!

Anyone know of a site where you can get historical weather for both Florida and Nassau for previous March's?
I added on REAS for DH and I-will wait a couple of days before calling to book Palo and massages-Yipee!!

This isn't exactly what you asked for but i think this will answer your questions. You can enter a destination and a month and view the average temps, percip, etc.

Edit:

Oh and it works best (at least for me) if you just do step 2 and enter a destination ie Nassau. Once you have picked your destination it should show the next 3 months worth of averages, then you can drill it down even further from there if you choose.

This will be our first cruise ever. DH, DD8 and myself are so very excited. After the cruise we are spending 4 days at WDW at POR. What are some tips for us newbie cruisers?

My Tip: You will LOVE it!

My DW and I took our first cruise for our honeymoon in 2002. We assumed it would be a "once in a lifetime" thing (we weren't big travelers before that). Boy were we wrong! This march will make our 3rd cruise, and 6th time staying on land since then.

My Serious Tip: Do as much as you can during the 4 days on board. There is SO much to do on the ship, and even more on shore. There is so much to see and do on the ship that you will probably forget you are in the middle of the ocean!

The only regrets we have ever had during any disney stay was that we didn't do enough (we are young and don't need things like sleep (j/k)), even though we were always busy.

Anyway I don't know if any of that made sense, but have fun and maybe we'll see you on board!

The weather site is exactly what I was looking for-thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the tips. What land excursions would you suggest? We are not big on water sports plus DD is not really adventures.

If you are up for the walking, the Discover Atlantis tour was very cool I thought. You can read more about it online, but basically it is a HUGE aquariaum with a lot of different species. They also took us a little bit throgh the hotel (lobby areas), and through the casino. We had a great time, but again it's 3-5 hours of mostly walking. Other then that i'm not sure since that is the only thing we did in Nassau.

Thanks. My daughter will love that. I guess we should start preparing ourselves now for all the walking. It sounds wonderful.

Now that we are about 60 days out, what is everybody booking for sure excusions? We are not sure about Nassau, but DW and I are parasailing at CC for sure. Just not sure what, if anything, to do at Nassau.

Since this is our very first cruise and first time to Nassau we just intend on walking around, shopping, and perhaps taking a cab to Atlantis or the Wyndham.
Does this sound reasonable?

We've booked the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Excursion. It's our first time to Nassau as well. I was a bit worried about not being able to immerse ourselves in the Carribean culture, but someone suggested taking a boat back to Nassau directly after the excursion, instead of taking lunch and hanging out on the beach at that island. I think it sounds like a nice compromise to allow the kiddos to swim w/dolphins (once in a lifetime experience and all) and it allows me to check out the island a bit. I understand there should be a couple of hours after the excursion. A little rushed maybe, but hey ya only live once, right?

Yipee! I now have everything finalized for our REAS package.
It now feels like we are really going - I'd better buy my seasick meds and try
them out! LOL

How'd the seasick meds work for ya mom_rules? Which did you try? I'm going to try meclazine first. The last thing I need is to be seasick!!

Who's already packed? (besides me, I mean!)

Test trial results: Ginger gels-Since I wasn't motion sick
at the time I didn't notice any difference (or any side effect either).
Bonamine (Meclizine HCI) is what they sell here (Dramamine or Bonine I believe it's called in the US) - Made me a little sleepy but each little chewable pill is supposed to last for a full 24 hrs. Had a bit of a headache as it wore off.
Gravol (dimenhydrate)- basically the same as Meclizine except they are
caplets and you say to take them every 4 hours.
Seabands-made me feel funny (a bit off-kilter) when I wore them.
So I guess my first choice will have to be the Bonamine.
I'll take the ginger gels and seabands along just in case too. (Not
paranoid much).
Don't know which advice to go with - Stay positive, don't think about it and wait and see what happens onboard or whether I should take the drugs starting the day before and keep taking them for the whole cruise.
What do you guys think?
