Hey MTH - where are from? Just curious.

I bought a few Alaska post cards yesterday to fill out with our name/address etc. to give out in case we make friends on the cruise. Then I had a thought...(rare, I know!)...would you all mind bringing a post card from where you live for me? I decorated my guest room with a "travel" theme using post cards and photos I've taken on our vacations and cross country moving adventures. It would be cool to have some new post cards to add to the room.

We'll be on a plane this time next week!

I need a real vacation. Before it was "I am excited about the whole cruise experience"... now it is - I HAVE TO GET AWAY!

My kids wake up in the morning and sing how many days are left!! I love it.

I so hope this is the vacation I have built it up to be. I read all these cruise reports - and I hope I'll have the same great memories (and less complaints than some!) In fact - I am going to steer clear from all complaints for the week. Venting and complaining will be for losers at work!

Looking forward to St. Patty's day as well! Guiness anyone!?

You know it. All three of us are in that boat. (Oops, didn't actually intend the pun, but, hey, it works.) All I have to do is finish what I'm working on before we go, and everything will be smooth sailing. I must confess to feeling a bit at sea about it all, though. Still, in the meantime I can find safe harbour here. After all, any port in a storm. Still, don't want to make waves. This may be a tender subject for some.

Please don't kill me. I just really need a vacation.

ill grab some postcards from the airport before we leave. Ours will be from Williamsburg, VA.

I took my ds9 to the Dr. today. Of course its just a virus and they cant do anything for him. He is being quarantined. Paper plates, plastic forks, bottled water. Oh and i just checked his temp. ......103.5!! wowza! My poor baby. I just gave him more motrin to try to knock it down! I hope it stops with him. I refuse to be sick on my cruise!!!!

Castaway Stowaway: Hope the rest of the family stays healthy and your son is feeling better soon. Here's some pixie dust. I've started harping on the kids about hand washing and getting everyone (including me) to bed at a reasonable time. This is primetime for getting sick around here, so we're doing everything we can to stay healthy for the next week.

I'll try to remember some postcards from Iowa--cows, pigs, corn, really exciting stuff. BTW, it's freezing here today. Get me out of here!!!

Man, I need a VACATION!!! Someone in my office just got hauled off by federal agents for fraud! Yikes, it's like a TV Drama over here!

Anyone else contacted by someone who is looking for a specific Disney Pin to purchase on the cruise ship? Someone emailed me to see if I would look for it and send it to him, offered to pay upfront. I don't mind, but you know - scams...

About the pins...you might want to ask Leslie...DisneyPinDiva...she is pretty familiar about pins....and I'm not sure what "special" type of pins might be on our cruise....it's not like our Repo cruise we took last May....we waited in line in the hall overnight for the special pins and then some people put them up on ebay!!!!!!!

Leslie, what do you think? I think we all got the same PM about buying some special pins for someone. I wouldn't mind either, but would hate to commit and then come up empty-handed. Also, I don't plan on spending the night in the hallway. We'll leave that up to you Elaine. Loved the picture and the jammies.

I'll try and grab some postcards from Ft. Lauderdale.. I don't think they have them for Coral Springs! Of course I could bring them from the MouseHouse in Orlando... maybe some with Sea World . ... or Universal Studios.... I like that idea of filling them out with names and addresses to exchange.

I know this has been discussed but, can you openly walk on the cruise with say a case of beer??? or should we be more discreet??

Also, are there "Prepaid" programs for soft beverages for the kids??...like when we stayed in Disney and bought the cup and had free refills all week?

Soft drinks at the station on deck 9 are free without having to buy a mug. We're bringing mugs from past stays, so we don't produce a lot of unnecessary garbage. Also, that way we can spike the mugs before we leave the room.

I would be a little more discreet with the case of beer... I put all my beverages in a rolling carry on size suitcase. Yes, they see what it is at the x-ray station and no one has ever said anything. I have never brought on beer though... mostly wine and other hard stuff.

No prepaid program any longer!! The soft drinks are FREE up on Deck 9 at the beverage station now They are NOT FREE at the bars though.... so you have to make the trek to deck 9 for the freebies. Paper beverage cups are available there, with lids, straws etc. The beverage station has 24 hour coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, and the normal array of soft drinks. (Coke products of course) There is also a nice selection of pastries each morning for the early risers... and cookies around 3pm. Believe me you are never wanting for food or drink while on board.

The pixie dust worked!!! My son woke up this morning with no fever!! Yippeee! I still didnt send him to school because they need to be fever free for at least 24 hours before they can go back. His school is gonna kill me. But what can i do? he was sick.

Sk8ingmom, I live about 10 min. from Colonial Williamsburg. I will be going there this Thursday with my ds9 for a field trip. This is the 4th field trip they have taken. Yet another reason we left CA. Schools there stink!! Man do i miss the Pacific Ocean though.

I got the same pm and proceeded to delete it. I have too many requests from people i know to worry about that!! Man, I sound mean... Oh well.
