March 11, 2006 - 7 Day Magic

The book is called Murder Walks the Plank. I hope it's a good one.

Five weeks to Key West! Wow, that seems too far when I look out the window and see snow flying. It's not landing or anything, but still, I'd much rather be somewhere where swimming outdoors is comfortable.

Okay... in that light I will say that Roseanne Barr can play me and Tom Arnold can play DH. That way you will be pleasantly surprised when you meet us!!

too funny Leslie....

I have no idea who would play me in a movie of my boring life...it would have to be a Canadian because they would need to get the accent down right!!!!! :rotfl2:

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!

SO...what do we know about Costa Maya?? I just read on the main board that DCL is not allowing people on the 4/22 sailing to book excursions in Cozumel because they aren't certain it will dock there.

Does anyone know what this does to the days at sea and dining (formal, semi, pirate) schedule?? My vacation should not be stressing me out!

I have an excursion booked for Cozumel. :confused3 I think the issue may be reduced docking facilities, in which case, they may not be able to get a reservation to dock in Cozumel for every Western itinerary, and are going to Costa Maya, if they can't get into Cozumel.

If that's the case, the fact that we could book should mean that that's where we're going.

I am really unsure what to do. :confused3 I want to book an outside excursion, but am not willing to forfeit the non-refundable deposit just yet. I have been emailing back and forth with the lady from the tour, and she said they are getting 6-7 ships in some days, but the pier is about 9 months from being usable. She told me to hold off until March 1st and book then. Certainly we will have a concrete answer by then (although when you call DCL and ask, they don't hesitate to tell you we will be going there). I am hoping Mortlives is right. I love Cozumel!

I think it all depends on how many ships are scheduled to be in port. Friends of my BIL just got back from a cruise to Cozumel (not Disney) and they didn't have a problem, but you do have to tender in. :( The problem lies in that there are only so many tenders available.
I have not seen the little notice on the website recently about possibly going to Costa Maya. And the fact that they are allowing Disney excursions to be booked is a pretty good sign that we're probably going there. I don't think I would take a chance on an outside excursion either though... JUST in case things change. Has anyone posted about the 2/25 Western??

Hang on a minute - I had a crazy weekend and am trying to get caught up. What is going on with Cozumel???

Apparently, the April 22 cruise is not booking Cozumel excursions. Someone phoned DCL, and they said the had put a hold on it until they actually returned. Speculation abounds as to when that will be. I'm still fairly optimistic that that's where we're going, though. I suppose we'll have more information after the Feb 11 sailing either does or does not go to Cozumel.

We dont really do that many excersions when we go on dcl. I also had really little kids when we last went. The thought of lugging around a stroller, diaper bag and all the other baby stuff just did not appeal to us. We just walked around and tasted tequila all day. I really love Cozumel, but Grand Caymen was my absolute favorite island ever! Seven mile beach was the most beautiful beach ive ever seen, and im from Monterey CA, so ive seen some nice beaches!

2/11 Western is going to Costa Maya....... they cancelled Cozumel on that sailing a few weeks ago. No word on the 2/25 yet. DCL told someone that they will call a week out if they are NOT going to Cozumel... so we'll have to keep an eye on that one! Ahhh it's such an adventure!
