Good choice. Your safe on American soil they say you have the best doctors in the world in the USA and your in very good hands. God Bless you Juliebug

You'll be in my prayers

Counting the days down till we leave the snow and cold of Iowa and start our drive to FL. Trying to think of shore excursions for the family to do while in Nassau and Castaway Cay. We have a DS 16 and DD 13, any suggestions as to what I could suggest to them as options for while at port?

I'm counting down too - it's cold here!

We have booked Palo's for dinner but I don't think we are going to book anything else. I looked at a few of the old Navigators that they have on line and noticed that the Spa sometimes has specials, so we might book something at that point.

I really, really hope we get good weather. My first cruise was last year, first week of March, and the weather was just about perfect, so I am hoping for the same this time. Just dreaming about Castaway Cay...

Happy New Year Cruisin' Peeps!! :wave2:

I hope everybody had wonderful holidays! Now that the holidays are behind us and we're in 2013, I'm really getting excited for our cruise!!

Plus- it was -11 degrees at our house this morning so I'm really looking forward to some sun and warm temps!! :beach:

Sorry no recommendations for excursions- DD and I are looking forward to just enjoying the ship the day we are in Nassau. That day is her 16th birthday and she has requested breakfast at Royal Palace on the ship and I may surprise her with a spa treatment.

Question for you seasoned cruisers- what was the most helpful thing you packed for your cruise? I have two- clothes pins and a small powerstrip. Powerstrip for charging our misc electronics (camera, ipod) and clothespins to keep the curtain closed between the bed and sitting area as well as to hang clothes on the clothes line you can pull across the tub.

Stay warm and happy planning!!

I mentioned earlier that I didn't have any excursions planned for Nassau but then I saw you mentioned Castaway Cay. Again- nothing big planned but my DD (she'll be 16 on this trip and was just shy of 14 on our last cruise) and I enjoy having the flexibility to just enjoy Castaway Cay but we always rent bikes and paddle trikes. There is a flat bike trail that goes around part of the island that is fun to do and a quick way to see more of it- including being able to go up in a lookout tower somewhat in the middle of the island. The water paddle trikes are just fun to do for an hour.

We are counting down the days here as well. We had sunny skies and high of 55 today. This is what I have booked for excursions, Atlantis Dolphin Cay shallow water Interaction & Aquaventure and for CC Parasailing for my DD12 and DS18. I do wonder if the temps will be too cold for Parasailing. The Atlantis excursion shows start time at 9:00am, does anyone know if we leave the ship at 9:00am to head over there? or do we have to be by the dolphins at 9:00am?

We are all booked on this cruise (DH, DD (14) and BB (9)) and so excited! We've never been on a cruise so it's going to be interesting. I'm looking at booking Palo one night but don't want to miss the Animators Palate or really anything. How do you know what the restaurant rotation is? Should we not do Palo and save it for the next cruise? :dance3:

Good question, I was wondering the same thing about Palo. I really do not want to miss out on any of the rotations. So maybe I will do brunch instead.

We have booked Palo. On the 4-night cruise, you do one restaurant twice. My travel agent said that you don't know your schedule until you get there, but when you get to the ship the first day, you can ask to change it if you don't like the day it's booked for. So that's my plan: if we need to, I'll try to change it to one of the two duplicated nights. I'm hoping it won't be too hard!

Hello everyone, longtime reader of DIS but can't remember the last time I have actually posted. We have officially booked our first Disney cruise and we're so excited! Our family would love to take part in the FE - Neal and Myra, and our 2 DD, Myanelle (4) and Alyanna (1).

This is my first trip on the DCL, so needless to say a newbie to all of this but I live the FE idea. This will be my DD (5) first cruise and I am excited at the idea of any additional magic that we can provide for her! How do I go about signing up our cabin for the FE?

Yay! More 3/10 Cruisin' Peeps!! Welcome! :wave2:

Quick FE info for you- one of our fellow cruisers- Gina (Belle1627) has been keeping the 'master list' of FE participants. She'll see your request and add it to the growing list that is on the first page of this thread. For now, she just needs names of cruisers, if they are adults or kids and the ages of kids at cruising. We'll share Cabin numbers as we get closer to cruising. I think the last date for signing up is in early February so we all have a month to get our things together for everybody.

Happy planning!

Wahoo! So excited for all this :cheer2:

Anyone been on this cruise before or similar cruises to the Bahamas? I'm trying to find out if it would be better to book an excursion through Disney or just take a taxi to Atlantis on Nassau day. What things can one do in Atlantis for free, other than casino and shops?

I am sorry of course I forgot to get the name that mentioned the booking about Palo. This is our second cruise on DCL, so we were able to book before 12/25. It is actually new to us also. On our first Disney Cruise we did not book Palo. Our kids were a little younger. Now they were very excited that they would be in the kids club and not eating with us that night(at sea night)our dinner is for 6:00 I believe. Oh and of course still do not have state room info. I will get out the info and get that for the FE. I have to make a note or I will forget.. The kids are counting down the days, (us adults too) I am starting to collect Pirate stuff for the Pirate night, hopefully my son will stay awake this time and not miss the WHOLE show and fireworks. Now that the kids are back in school and holidays are over I will be on here more often for updates.

One more addition to the FE list please - my brother/sister in law also officially booked this cruise - Karl and Elle.

Thank you!!

Cruising in our room is: Briley Kay who will be five years old, and my mother-in-law, Donna, and myself, Krissy.

I really like seeing my countdown too :cheer2: Weeeee 89 days peeps :)

I want to dress up as it may be our only opportunity to get a nice family picture. My husband is a businessman so he will most likely have a suit or suit jacket with dress slacks. Us ladies (me and dd14) will have our party dresses on :goodvibes

We are driving down and don't have the luxury of alot of space, so I'm at bit worried about clothing choices. We are renting a villa for 10 day prior so I can do laundry. I definately love dressing up tho. I guess I need to start thinking about it!!:scared1:

I've also been fascinated with the magnet boards... but I'm having trouble viewing all the graphics as when I click on the links it will only show one or two of millipies - whom I found were the nicest. I'm not sure how to request? Also, the cabana's are sold out? I couldn't even book any excursions until Dec. 25th and that's where I was told to look :confused3 Oh well, I'll have to race for an umbrella as my body does not do well with heat. If all else fails I may just have to go back on the boat  Waaaaaaaaa

Oh well, just saved $500 that's a good way to look at it. Time to get to work. See ya all soon :drive:

I was suprised the cabanas were sold out so quickly too!! We did book parasailing for my dh and dd at CC.

This will be our 7th Disney cruise and 3rd on the Dream. We just booked the three night after this cruise as well! We knew 4 nights just wouldn't be enough. It will just be me and dh this time...keeping the kids at the grands.

That sounds great. DH and I did the NYC Disney cruise to nowhere in June without kidlets and we had a blast!

Sorry to hear that. God Bless.

Over the door shoe holder with clear compartments. We put all our toiletries etc in there so they are off the very limited counter space.
Also a night light for the bathroom. Its dark in there. :)

got it! Thanks

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! So very excited for our cruise!!

HELLO fellow FE -ers!!

Just want to let everyone know that our cut off date is approaching. We have a fairly small group so at least the gifts won't take up alot of room and it won't take to long to deliver.

I am not a big fan of advertising stateroom numbers on the internet, especially with all the information that we give (kids names, ages etc). So can I ask that everyone PM their email address and their stateroom number to me and I will make up a spreadsheet and email it to everyone individually.

Hope everyone is fine with that, if you would rather not give me your email address, I will just type it out in a PM for you then.

Thanks everyone!!!
