March 1-5, 2009 Wonder Cruise

Will be joining you all on the cruise along with my husband, kids and a family friend. Disney called yesterday with room upgrades. This is my second cruise on the Wonder -- went in March 07. It was a blast. Can't wait to do it all again!!!

:)

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. We are driving the thousand miles and leave here on Feb. 27th. Will be staying at the Radisson at Port Canaveral the night before. I can't imagine a better vacation for my 4 year old son and 9 year old daughter. Castway Cay makes the entire trip worth it.
Oh! Started packing already. :yay:

Hi everyone. Looks like we will be joining you all on March 1st. We booked our cruise last Friday (I'm so way behind here LOL). It will be 4 of us cruising, DH , me, DD8 and DS5! We haven't told them yet and I'm not really sure when we should tell them, you know? If I tell them now I'll have to listen to them asking me how much longer do we have, ect.. but I don't want to wait until we are boarding the ship either. That just doesn't seem right!:lmao: I just made our resversation at the Radisson in Port Canaveral to night too. I'm so excited!

I'm trying to start my packing now but am so worried about what kind of clothes to bring. Will it be chilly at night? How cold is it in the dinning rooms? Will we be comfortable in shorts and tank tops? Ugg... I don't want to take our whole closets either. LOL

Well it's nice to meet you all.
Sabrina

We're also driving (aprox. 1200 miles) to Port Canaveral and also staying at the Radisson. I need to call them to reserve a parking space for us.. Looks like our children are about the same age. DD is 8 and Ds is 5. I'm really excited for Castway Cay too.

Welcome Met and tikilyn!

We are all so excited!

Yes, hello welcome aboard!! I'm so happy to see some more cruisers with son boys around my DS's age!! He's 5 too!!

I just want to say Happy Monday to everyone, let's get through this week and we will be that much closer to our amazing trip!!!:dance3:

Will it be chilly at night? How cold is it in the dinning rooms? Will we be comfortable in shorts and tank tops?

---------- Last time I went it was the first cruise in March 2006. Slightly cooler than normal --- but yes pack tank tops, light t-shirts, shorts....also be sure to pack a hoodie and maybe a couple thin long sleeve shirts ---incase you decide to go explore deck 9 at 4 in the morning....more importantly, incase you need protection for your sunburn. Heed their warnings and use lots of sunblock!! And by the time you've put it on....you get like a 10 minute break and it's time to start all over again.

Since you have a long drive ahead of you, I'm sure you'll be bringing jeans and warmer shirts anyways. lol.

The weather was beautiful. You could break a sweat walking around Nassau and there was enough sun at Castaway Cay to come back with a dark tan. Cool breeze in the mornings. Don't miss you chance to see the unobstructed sunrise while on board. It was great.

Funny thing -- I don't remember what the temp was like in the dining rooms...must have been too busy trying to decide what to get. lol. No tanktops or shorts generally in the dining room.

How many days to go? Oh, well. Have to head to the office. Grrrrr.....:surfweb:

Thank you so much Met that helps alot. I had to bold that line and laugh for a minute. Sorry guys I'm not coming from the cold tundra like most people.lol We live in South Texas on the border of Mexico. Today will be a wonderful mid 80's for us. But I do feel for everyone up North freezing their butts off.

Thanks for the help with the clothes. I dont want to pack a ton of stuff but maybe I'll pack a few warm things for us.

I'm going shopping today for the sun screen (waterbabies all the way). I love that stuff sense I'm fair skin and fry like an egg on a hot day. My kids are blessed with their daddys skin and they tan like nobodies business (but I still put tons of sun screen on them too) Just in case.lol

As far as warm clothes goes. We are leaving the 28th and we live in lllinois so on the plane we are going to wear jeans and each of us will need to wear a jacket or hoodie to the airport cuz like i said it is winter in the Midwest, but of course we don't want to have our huge winter coats with us either so other than maybe a long sleeved shirt we probably won't pack much else. It has been 60 for two days in a row and I have already broke out the flip flops! Its a dang heat wave right now!

donniehoo--welcome to "the game"! I love your suitcase full of goodies and the stories about your kids. :rotfl: They sound very sweet and excited about the trip.

Welcome Met & tikilyn! I don't know how all the last minute bookers can do it! I've been planning for MONTHS and still feel overwhelmed with getting everything organized.

Check out post #42 on p. 3 for a list of everyone who's on our thread. Does everyone want their room numbers posted here too? I'll add the ones that posted already.

For the game today: contacting my TA to see about this fuel surcharge and yesterday I snagged a massage appt. for DH that suddenly came open. Whoo hoo! :thumbsup2

We also had a State ID made for our DSand At the DMV I jokingly said don't be trying to sneak into bars with that id card! He said (loudly) I dont even like beer! I was like umm you havent had it before though, and he again said i dont like beer with conviction! I looked around and everyone is staring at us. Yes! Mother of the year right here!

sas_mk: you have inspired me with the packing and made the impossible happen my DH agreed to start packing!

:lmao: Too funny!

Thanks so much, as always PoppyGirl, for keeping the list updated, we are in room 6641. Hope everyone is less overwhelmed than I am with the packing. If I make one more list, I swear I will only be a few pages shy of a novel!!

Hi Pippy...it's Poppy...(that made me laugh...it doesn't take much apparently!) We are at opposite ends of the hallway...at least I'm not the only one in an inside cabin!

Spoke to Disney this morning and we'll all automatically be receiving stateroom credit for the amount they charged us. Don't even need to call them. Yea!:goodvibes

Met, husband, DD9, DS4.5 and family friend 30 (She'll hate me for that.)
We were upgraded to rooms 7004 and 7006 -- oceanview. SO EXCITED!!!:rotfl:

Just curious. What part of Illinois?? Today was gorgeous. No more nasty ice!

80s. Lucky duck!!
At least we have power. Kentucky and Missouri got hit hard.
