March 1-5, 2009 Wonder Cruise

I'll admit it. My suitcases are out and are already surprisingly full. I think I am bringing too much stuff! :rotfl:

My husband has to go to our other house to get our suitcases so no packing yet, but probably this weekend. I am so obsessed though, this is going by sooo slooowww!

No no no no no....you can't do this to us! Now how will I possibly be able to resist packing? I think that Saturday I'm going to have to drag everything out of the "Disney closet" (and yes, I do have an entire small closet dedicated to our trip!)

Today I bought DS a new lightweight jacket since the one he has doesn't zip...and let's see....DD a cute top. Currently printing out the latest versions of Navigators to look at with DH on date night tonight. Woo hoo! :thumbsup2

Wow were practically right across from each other! I don't know what to do to make this go faster, I have don't have much going on the next two weeks so ofcourse it will go super slow!

BTW everyone I have heard some people receive their travel documents starting around two weeks prior BUT some get theirs around three weeks so we could technically get them anytime starting next week! Whenever you receive yours reports to us immediately!!!::cop: Or there will be concequences!:rotfl2:

I wonder what is included in these exciting travel documents? This is like publishers clearing house coming to your door, haha!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hello everyone, please add my family and I to the list--we just booked yesterday! Nothing like the last minute....

We are staying at Caribbean Beach for 2 nights before boarding the cruise March 1st. We took this same cruise last year and had such a spectacular time, we couldn't resist doing the same again.

It will be me, my husband, son (almost 15) and daughter (12 1/2). We just told them last night and they haven't even had much time to digest it. Last year the waterpark at Atlantis was a huge hit as a Nassau excursion, but I think we will forgo that this year for something less expensive (they are disappointed, but I think they'll live).

We have our Cat 9 room number--2150--I hope it is OK but I haven't read the reviews yet. Last year we were Aft 2012 and it was awesome.

Does anyone know--at Castaway Cay, can we get just a banana boat ride now, or are all the banana boat rides hooked in as packages with other things?

Well, I'd better get back to work to earn money for our trip! :o)

Happy packing, everyone! We are ready to escape cold Minnesota for the warmth of the sun!

Guess I have forgotten my "ship language" in one short year. We were in 2012 FORWARD (not Aft). Yikes. I think I will be lost a lot on the ship--if you see a confused woman roaming around, please point me in the right direction to my room. Ha!

:wave2: Hello! cloud9...what aren't you ready to commit to? the cruise or our thread?

PoppyGirl I'm all in for the cruise, been planning since April. It is the thread . . . just never been involved in one (or posted).

Cloud9--Well, I committed you (haha) and added you to our list on p. 3, post #42. Welcome! I hope you decide to join us.

MinnesotaMouse--love your name! I added you to our list too. I think you might be the only one among us who has sailed before. We should be asking YOU all of our questions! ;)

So...what is everyone doing today? I'm, what else, shopping for last minute stuff. I pulled all the kids clothes out this morning and checked to see what they still need, so now I'm off to the store to spend more money. Good thing DH loves me.:lmao:

Welcome MinnestoaMouse and Cloud9!

I think the travel docs are mostly the same stuff as the online check in i think transfer info comes as well as luggage tags too!

Today I went flip flop shopping but I couldn't find some I liked :confused3 weird i know!

Hey everybody,

Just checkin in and playin catch up. I feel like I'm the only guy on here. My DW is excited as well but she just isn't in to the forum thing to much. She's not a big computer person. Does that make me a weirdo :crazy2:

Anyway, here's my two cents on all the chatter going on in here.

First off, We are going in a family group of 10 with 2 connecting rooms. Our room numbers are 8568 & 8570.

Nice work starmom on getting the fuel surcharge credit. I didn't even think about it. I read that and thought I should call myself so I did that tonight and they gave us a $100 room credit for EACH room. Thanks for that tip. If I run into you and your DH on the ship, I owe you a drink :drinking1

Also, so I don't get into trouble by ShawnaH, I also asked them about the travel documents and he told me that mine were sent out yesterday @ 5PM. He said I should be seeing them Monday or Tuesday so they should be on the way for ALL of us I would assume :donald:

I also cracked up when I read about you getting the Captain Morgan for your DH. I am doing the exact same thing. I told my DW all I needed was my bottle of Cap and the Coke drink station directions and I was good for the whole cruise :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

I will also join in on "the game" PoppyGirl. We already have a suitcase full of gimmicks and gadgets...

as well as new Disney shirts and cinch bags for the DD's...

I also have my SafeSea on the way and should be here next week. Damn them Jellyfish. ;)

Seriously though, I heard that they aren't really all that much of an issue but I'm not taking a chance on one of the DD's getting stung. They get a scratch on their arm and they are ready to call in the ambulance to rush them to the hospital and get prepped for amputation so I'd hate to see what would happen if a Jellyfish gave them a little zap.

My DW and DD's are doing a sleep over @ the church for Girl Scout's this evening so I am taking my mom and dad out to the store tonight to get a few more things for them.

My mom is the main reason we are going on this cruise to begin with. She had a stroke a couple of years ago and still has a little trouble with her right side. She can walk for short distances but we will be wheelchairing her around for most of the trip.

The stroke scared her and my dad a little and one day she overheard me talking about the Disney DVD I sent away for. She told me that going on a cruise was one of the things that she wanted to do before she died so that got the ball rolling and in 3 more weeks one of her goals in life will be fullfilled.

Anyway, my dad has a little trouble pushing her around for a long period of time and she doesn't get out too much so I am taking them out DISNEY CRUISE SHOPPING BABY :mickeyjum

OK, I think I'm pretty much caught up and back on track here.

Oh yea, someone mentioned travel and lodging. We are driving down and are coming in a day early and staying at the Radisson At The Port to get rested up for the cruise. We rented a 12 passenger van for the week and it was MUCH cheaper than flying and travel from Orlando to the Port.

Alright, I'm off the pick up the folks. Talk to you guy's later...

DonnieHoo- Is it weird that i want to roll around in the suitcase of fun stuff? I want to toss it in the air like confetti:rotfl2:

oh and don't feel bad my hubby reads this forum all the time but he doesn't post :confused3 not sure why cuz im the one of us that is social innappropraite most of the time!:scratchin

Not weird at all. I've thought of doing it myself. It's funny to watch my youngest DD's when they get around it sometimes. They are 6 & 8 and they can't keep their fingers out of it. They will unzip it, take everything out and make out a list of what's in it as they put it back in. It's too cute princess:

Well, to update on "the game", the parents had a successful night out shopping. They got a good amount of things that they needed and are just about ready to roll.

I took my two youngest DD's to the BMV this morning and got them State ID's. I know they don't need them if they are with parents but my DW and I thought it would be a good idea to have a picture ID of them just in case.

It was a good trip. All of the ladies at the BMV were just oogleing over the girls' adventure and thought their cheesy smiles for their pictures was the cutest thing they had seen in a long time.

My DD's were excited to get them and they turned out real good. My youngest understands that it is a State ID only but that isn't stopping her from trying to talk me into letting her get behind the wheel now that she's "legal" :drive:

We also went and had some business cards made with our personal info on them. We got this tip from our passporter and thought it was a good idea so that if we make some new friends on the ship we can just give them a card to stay in touch.

That's about it for now. Talk to you guy's later,

We also had a State ID made for our DSand At the DMV I jokingly said don't be trying to sneak into bars with that id card! He said (loudly) I dont even like beer! I was like umm you havent had it before though, and he again said i dont like beer with conviction! I looked around and everyone is staring at us. Yes! Mother of the year right here!

sas_mk: you have inspired me with the packing and made the impossible happen my DH agreed to start packing!

Got my DS 2 pairs of sandals, and more clothes! Three weeks from tomorrow we are on the ship! I can barely stand it!!! Is this trip more exciting for the kids or the parents, hehe!!:cool1: So what is a passporter?

A passporter is a Disney travel book that Jennifer and Dave Marx has created. They have a book that is an A To Z about the Disney cruise and it is VERY detailed.
