March 1 - 4, 1st SOLO trip!

Woohoo!

You'll love it, the freedom of travelling solo is awsome.

Suggestions...

Unless you feel you have to do everything, just take it easy. Being able to go at your own pace is a big bonus of solo travel.

Also, you might want to try some of restraunt bar areas. Most offer the full menu but as it's at the bar you can ususally just do a walk-in. :)

Hi,
I'd love to get your opinion on RR after you return. I've never eaten there and will be taking my first solo trip not long after yours - 3/25-29.
Your dining choices sound great!

I'm trying Kouzzina and Saana while I am there, along with Kona Cafe and Cap'n Jacks - all 1sts for me.

Enjoy your trip!

I've been to Raglan Road twice before, and my recommendation still is the bread pudding, it's SO worth it! But I'll definitely let you know how a solo seat is at the place :)

packing is all done, now its just time to try to sleep and get on the plane in less than 12 hours :dance3:

Hi Devilsgirl!
We are New Jersey Devil fans also!:thumbsup2
Have an awesome trip.

Congrats on your 1st solo, devilsgirl538! I think you'll love it (so much that you'll probably only want to go solo in the future!). Take advantage of those single rider lines!

Hello everyone! I got back late Thursday night and my first solo trip....was anticlimatic. After Monday the rest of the week was bitterly cold and not really the best weather for walking around the parks

I've been to Disney in ALL sorts of weather and I have to say by far this was the most miserable.

On a happier note, me and the single rider lines became best friends. I found myself skipping through lanes and waving to the stressed out families with young children all the while humming to myself "neener, neener, neeeeeener!" :rotfl2:

I must say that there was not one cast member that made me feel awkward when I triumphantly rose my index finger in the air at them. More to come later!

My first meal was at the Yak & Yeti bar (that word will show up a lot in these posts :confused3:rotfl2:). The seats at the bar were by far the most comfortable bar stools I've ever plopped my butt down on. Mike & Mark my fabulous bartenders/entertainment were absolutely lovely. It was at this moment with ancient boar head masks peering down at me that I decided it was time to take advantage of this place and decided to have the roast duck for lunch.

It was so yummy! Please if you order duck dont complain that it is too greasy and not like chicken, because it's not chicken (cluck cluck), it's duck (quack, quack). Although the veggies could've been cooked a little more as they were too crunchy for my liking, the overall meal was very satisfying.

This was also my first venture in striking up conversations with complete strangers. So I pulled out my book and decided to read instead. It's not that I hate talking to people, or good looking bartenders, I just dont know what's appropriate in the world for small chat at a bar.

Next up dinner Olivia's Cafe at OKW.

Did you try the Yak Attack? I have never ordered this drink, but I will because of others reporting how delicious it is!:drinking1

I only condone drinking that early in the day at World Showcase with either a Fiesta Margarita or Grey Goose Slushie :cool1:

I dined solo at regular Yak & Yeti last December. I think I had the salad, tea & some fab pineapple wontons!! I really like the restaraunt alot. It may be on my list for next time (hopefully there is one).

It also helps to tweet or take pictures or write notes in a trip journal, if that helps.

awww...it would have been nice to hear about the trip. :confused3 :guilty:
