Wondering if anyone has ever been to Walt's home town? We are planning on stopping thru some time this summer. I know it's basically a one-day sort of thing, or maybe even a half-day, but just looking for info from folks who have been.

We drove through in November and were very disappointed to find that all of the "attractions" were closed in the winter. Good luck.... I think it would be very neat to see. You can find lots of info online.

Thanks! Yeah, I've checked out some of the official sites. Looking for people who have maybe stayed at the B&B there, some special things not to miss, etc.

Don't go on Memorial day! Cause not a dang thing was open... If it wasn't for a nice lady walking down the street it would've been a total bust but she gave us a few tips on where things were etc.

I've been there. It is a bit out of the way, and unfortunately the museum was closed for the season. But my Dad & I stopped at the barn, the elementary school (just check in at the office, and they'll tell you where you can go), and there was a park. The barn is off the main road before you get to town, so you can stop there first. There are also a few antique stores in town, and if you mention you are looking at Disney they'll get you pointed in the right direction. You can also get a good breakfast at Susie's Place.

We did it when I helped my parents move to FL. We spent the night in Chillicothe, and then spent the next morning in Marceline, before we were on the road again.
