We headed down this past Friday for the weekend. It was me, my sister (the runner) and my kids, 4 y.o. Maddie and 1 y.o. Logan. We were excited to be staying for the first time at the dolphin. We had booked the romance package (cheapest rate we could find) and would be getting breakfast each morning and a gift upon check in. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in so we headed over to the sports complex so my sister could check in for the half marathon. On the way over, we were rear ended pretty hard but luckily none of us, or the car in front of us that we were pushed into, were seriously injured. After an hour on the scene, I asked the disney security officer if he could arrange for someone to come pick the kids and my sister up and taken them to our room, which was now ready. He checked on it but was told disney policy didn't allow them to transport anyone from an accident scene. I called the dolphin and they sent someone for them and when we got to the room, they had sent up a basked of juices, snacks and candy up for the kids. They were very excited. That was the start of a very nice stay at the dolphin. We only went in to the parks on Saturday after my sister finished her race. We walked over to epcot, which wasn't very crowded, except for soarin. We then took the monorail over to MK, which was pretty crowded. We're used to going for a week or so in Sept. so we're always caught off guard by any lines at any of the parks. In the 3 hours we were there, we only rode dumbo and the carousel and let the kids play in the 100 acre wood. Normally in 3 hours we can do just about everything we want to do in Sept. We headed back to epcot and went around world showcase just snacking at the different countries and listening to the different musical performances. It was pretty cold so we headed back to the dolphin and watched the fireworks from there. We headed home the next morning. We loved the dolphin, especially the beds and the location. My son loved the view from our room of the beach and pools. My daughter loved the view of tower of terror. I think after the stress of this trip, however, that we'll wait for our annual Sept. trip before going again.
