Marathon Weekend

I'm going with some friends to the the WDW marathon/half marathon in January.

I figure that the half marathon is short enough to not effect traffic too badly, but the marathon should effect it quite a bit.

For those not running the marathon, how much trouble will they have if they want to get to MK (either to cheer or to spend the day)? They will be staying at POP or YC. I know that those at YC would be better off at EPCOT or DHS but we are planning to hit MK that evening (and have dinner at Narcoossee's that night) and they don't have hoppers.

Last year, all buses to MK were re-routed to TTC until the race cleared the area. All guests had to take the monorail or ferry boat to reach the MK.

There will also be traffic delays, and buses may have to take longer routes than usual.

So they will be able to get to the MK, but it will take longer (possibly much longer) than normal.
