Marathon weekend roving reporter live trip report

I'm now sitting in the epcot parking lot

Waiting for 6:00am

It's dark and a little chilly

There's 10,000 people here with me and an 80's band to entertain us

I'm very jealous of you Dave. Good luck today and have fun. :thumbsup2

I got to see Dave and some other Wish'ers this morning. Saw Dave running through the TTC. Sure were a lot of people out and about this morning.

Kathy I missed you at the TTC

Thanks for coming out this morning

Good luck Dave...sounds like a lot of fun. I used to run a bit before I relapsed into my fatness:eek: The marathon sounds like a great reason to start again.

I finished the race and now I'm back in the epcot parking lot

It took me 2:06 to run the race

We just relaxed and ran easy

Lots of fun

Congrats on finishing the race.... Can't wait till you are rested up and can share the story with us. Have a great day...Wish we were there

Congratulations on your race!
Your pics were great, made me want to be there even more than I already did.
Have fun the rest of the weekend.

I just looked at the map of the marathon course. Now I am impressed.

Congratulations Dave! Hope you had a blast. 2:06 sounds like a terrific time. I'd probably be crawling for the finish line begging for mercy.

Congratulations on finishing the race :thumbsup2

Thank you Kathy for posting and linking to the blog. As a first time 1/2 Disney Marathon runner, today, I too was in my own world at times. I really appreciate the big picture photos, as now I can share the experience a bit with family who are all at home tonight!

Was it hard trying to run with all the crowds of people? Some areas you runners were squeezed down into a smaller area. It looked tough trying to keep up the pace.

Thanks for the photos Kathy. It looked like an amazing day to be running. I'm sure all the runners very much appreciated a dry day with moderate temperatures.

There were times early on when it was a bit hairy, with people coming close to banging knees. And a few times the road narrowed down quite a bit, but everyone seemed to accept this, and were respectful of other people running, no matter what thier pace. That was nice to see. Other, smaller races I have run, people are so darn serious about running that they yell at others to move. This one had an air of pure joy to it. The funniest thing I noticed was 4 minutes after the race started, the number of people running, both male and female, taking advantage of the trees by the side of the road to "relieve pressure" from their bodies..;)

Emmabean2000, congratulations on completing your first Disney 1/2 marathon. I hope you had as much fun as I had out there.

haha- i saw that too and that just helped keep me laughing through the first few miles.

congratulations on the finish! your time is awesome- i finished at 3 hours, which is slower for me but i've been battling a hip injury since this past summer so i was just happy to be able to run at all.
