Marathon Weekend Park Res Question

Hey everyone! We're headed to WDW from 1/2-1/6. I've got most of my park ressies figured out, but I keep going back and forth between two scenarios for 1/4 and 1/5, which is when the 5K and 10K will be held respectively. We're seasoned WDWers and my kids are older (one teen and one adult at the time), but we've never been during Marathon Weekend.

My question: For those of you who have been during Marathon Weekend, is MK typically super busy on the morning of the 10K? Would we potentially have trouble getting there for rope drop due to transpo gridlock? Ideally we'd like to go to Disney Springs on 1/4 and MK on 1/5, but I'd be willing to switch that up a little if the 10K day is going to be worse at MK.

5K and 10K do not really impact the parks in any significant way. Sure runners like to get medal photos in the parks, but many will end up going to the parks a little later after breakfast and naps. The 5K is solely within Epcot, and typically the 10K is just Epcot and Boardwalk - likely no issues with road closures, though the races are at 5:00 AM, and wrapped up by 7 is or so.

Awesome, thanks!
