Marathon weekend lodging

Right now we have reservations in a one bedroom at the BWV. I am running the full and DH is running the half. I decided on BWV because of being able to walk back after the race. DH is now thinking it might be best if we switch to OKW, so we can walk to the start. I am a bit concerned about walking because it really is not an official path. Would be pretty bad to not make it on time because we could not figure out how to get there. Does it really matter where you stay? This will be a first for both of us... We did the Wine and Dine the first year, but that was a night race.
Thanks!

If this is your first full and you really want to experience the event to its fullest... then stay BWV. If I did not have a crew of 9-11 coming I would have hanged to the BWV last week. While a pain in the rear, riding the bus to the start is a true experience. By heading to the staging area on the bus, you are also able to check a post run gear bag. You can ride with your DH and vis a versa on your spectator mornings. That will give the spectator the ability to get up to the MK/TTC with little effort. The BWV also gives your DH a space to chill after the Poly viewing... Nothing like a mid morning nap while the spouse is working.... At least that is what my DW says.

Note that the spectator is not allowed to get too closet the start area if walking from the OKW resort. I say that if there is any question in your mind, stay with the BWV

I stayed at BCV for the 2012 marathon and loved it. The bus ride was pretty short, despite the fact that all of the Epcot resorts share buses. Keep in mind that if you want to walk back you'll need a park ticket to get through Epcot.

Thanks for the advice! We did end up switching to OKW. Saved us 17 points and I am running with my friend who is staying with us and although we have annual passes, she does not, and is not sure she will buy a park ticket. She also said she would prefer the less hassle in the morning. Hubby said he will not be going to the start in the am and I will not check a bag. We just got back from a stay and BCV, so I know I would love BWV, but would rather use those points on a longer vacation... we are just coming in Fr. - Mon. for the race. Your insight definitely helped us make a decision!
