Marathon Weekend - January 10-13, 2008

Has anyone made reservations for the marathon weekend in January? The quote I'm getting for a moderate resort is $168 per night which seems high (values are around $100 per night). I'll probably reserve and wait for AP discounts as the date get closer. Just curious about what others have found.

$168 for a moderate sounds right, assuming it includes the taxes. I just booked BW yesterday and it was around $350, including tax. The CM I spoke to said that no discounts are available until the 2008 rates come out. I'm hoping to get an AAA rate applied to my reservation at that time.

That sounds about right for now. It's still 8 months away and discounts don't usually start showing up until 3 mths or so prior. Unfortunately marathon time has gotten very busy so discounts could be few and far between when they are released for that time since the availability could be limited. Just keep in mind if AP discounts are released they may not be available for the resort you booked.

They block a certain number of rooms at each resort for the AP discounts, so make sure to have a few resort choices in mind.
