SAFD: I don’t listen to anything while I run. I’m very much into letting my brain be quiet while I’m out there and taking in my surroundings.
“I Drove All Night” is a great running song.SAFD: Celine Dion and Metal. Or Metal and Celine Dion.
I prefer the Cyndi Lauper version though. #genX #80sKid“I Drove All Night” is a great running song.
SAFD: None of the above? I do most of my running outdoors and don't listen to much except my footsteps, breath, and the traffic. On the days when the weather or pollution is too bad to run outside and I have to use a treadmill, I'll throw on a podcast or two to get me through.Good afternoon RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). As training ramps up and the miles increase, how do you keep yourself entertained as the runs get longer and longer? Do you rock out to your favorite playlists, Disney or otherwise? Are podcasts or audiobooks your distraction of choice? Or are you a treadmill video warrior committed to Netflix and not quite so chill? Do you take the same approach for training runs and races?
Yeah, if not having anything to listen to makes your brain quiet, then we have very, very different brains. All of you who don't listen to anything while running remind of Elaine and David Putty on Seinfeld, when she couldn't understand him not reading anything on the plane.![]()
I can appreciate the zen of your approachSAFD: I am one of those who don't listen to anything. Just my thoughts and solving the world's problems. When I first really got into running, I tried to listen to music, but hearing the same songs over and over, plus dealing with airpods falling out, air trapped in my ear from the airpods, I decided to go no music and never looked back.
