Good morning RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). Time stands still for no one at Walt Disney World, with attractions coming and going (or being updated). The latest casualties of this have been Tom Sawyer's Island and the Frontierland riverboat. What other attractions do you think it's time to update or replace entirely? You've got the whole World to choose from, so no need to limit it to the Magic Kingdom.
SAFD: Despite the last sentence above, I'm going to limit myself to two attractions in the Magic Kingdom. First off, the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse has always seemed kind of an odd choice to me. I think it's time to find a better use for that area, small as it may be. My second choice comes with some hesitation. I've always loved The Enchanted Tiki Room and I always try to find time for it on my trips, but its age is clearly showing and it could really use some updating. It seems like Disney has an ideal fit in Moana to update the story, while keeping the theme and spirit consistent. I'd love to see Moana, Maui, Te Fiti and Tamatoa integrated into the Polynesian culture storytelling of the attraction.
