Marathon Weekend 2026

SAFD: if I show up for MW 2026, it'll be as a spectator and to spend time with friends, so I'd just like no rain, no frigid temps, and CONSISTENCY! No starting at 35 and going up to 80 nonsense: if it's gonna be cool, fine - just stay cool and I'll wear layers. If it's gonna be warm, fine - just stay warm and I'll not carry around a giant backpack full of extra clothes.

SAFD: We were at WDW last week and I would gladly take the weather we had for the marathon weekend or about 5 degrees cooler: low 50's in the early morning which was great for running in shorts and short sleeves, then upper 60's as the highs during the day for walking around the parks in long pants and long sleeves. And no rain!

And today was another run on the indoor track as its frigid out! 49 laps ~= 7 miles

OMG you guys there are NO GREY SHIRTS!!! (Though I guess these are the "I did it" expo shirts and not the race shirts?)

EDIT: I was reading the 10K as olive green but could be dark grey?

I’m really not a fan of most of it, but I’m sure I’ll still show up as early as possible
I already preordered the weekend bundle, but will need to pick up some pins and a magnet for my son.

I had forgotten that I had pre-ordered the jacket and the Dopey pullover/fleece. Probably the only other things I will pick up is one of the spirit jerseys (regular or AP), which ever one looks better and the Dopey Challenge pin if it is still around when I get there.

The merch isn’t really my style. I’m kinda over the gigantic graphics, it feels a little childlike to me. Was planning on going to expo Friday so this works in my favor.

might snag a marathon hoodie. TBD on the spirit jersey - i destroy them already by cutting the sleeves off and turning them into a tank top.

Sigh - I like some of these - especially the Goofy one (in a year I'm doing Goofy). I think I'm still not going to stress about it. Right now I'm planning on hitting the expo Thursday evening and if they have something I like, I'll get it - if not - that's ok too I have lots of running jackets

I kind of like that goofy finisher shirt, although me managing to finish is still questionable. I do wish they'd shown the goofy zip up hoodie because if there's something I'm likely to purchase (aside from pins) it would be that.

I'm interested to see what they put on the back of that baseball jersey since SURELY it doesn't *just* say Marathon Weekend in huge letters on the front.

The Club one they had at W&D has a big club logo on the back -- big C with the running Mickey in the middle. So my guess is this one is the rD logo.

I preordered the Dopey pullover in two sizes, hopefully one of them works. One year I got a small jacket, the next year I got an XXL hoodie. Their sizing is so crazy!

I like that black marathon hoodie/jacket thing. But I’m not going to the expo till Friday afternoon/evening so I’ll just sorta see what they have. I don't love any of it, so that’s good!

I did 14 today for my marathon training. I was craawwwwwling the last two miles! I was pleasently surprised to still be under 16 min overall. Not far under, but under. I know I should be going further but I’m still working up from missing most of October. My plan is to do 16 on the 26th as my last long run. But I’m kinda like how can I go 12 more miles than I did today?! Hoping the energy of the day carries me through.

The energy of the day, the photo-op rest breaks, and pure determination. And mentally break the run up into smaller runs.
