Marathon Weekend 2026

I had never heard this before. I like. My wife keeps talking about trying to do a Dopey. Maybe if she ever does it, this would be something we could do.

I didn't even know this was an "option"!

I'm pretty sure it's not encouraged by Disney, but like running DLS or riding Everest/Tower of Terror/RnRC during the full, it's something to do to mix things up and have some fun.

SAFD: my screen name is just my initial, and picture was a “reveal” picture at DL to tell my family our second kid was going to be a boy.


We’re on our way home from a quick weekend trip to WDW. Did a run from BLT to Poly, and while I was running was thinking the last time I was there and running that path was making up the miles from the half of the half in 2024. We ended up having lousy weather luck - Starlight was rained out on Saturday, and our MVMCP was completely rained out with thunderstorms on Sunday. I’m hoping for better weather luck for MW!!

SAFD: My screen name comes from my early career in medical device R&D. I started my career making medical grade cyanoacrylates (CAs, aka super glue) so I was a camaker. If you've ever had a cut or incision closed with Dermabond, I developed the initial manufacturing process for it. It was developed at a very small company in Raleigh, NC before J&J bought it, sending my career in a different direction. The screen name has stuck, though.

My avatar is our first dog, Owen the English bulldog. He was a great dog and we had 9 wonderful years with him, even if the NC State Vet School has a wing named in his honor after all the time and money we spent there! We've had more bulldogs since, but he's got a special place in the heart as the first.

I put a oyster knife in the web of my hand between the thumb and index finger?. I got medical super glue at the urgent care that day lol.

MY screen name is from the area around town where I get a lot of my long runs done. Around LSU campus and the lake system as part of the BREc parks. Really nice part of town.
My avatar is a picture of my son and I's camping set up from a trip a while back. I really enjoy spending time in the woods with him as there are not digital distractions.

Maybe not BenGay (it almost killed my husband) but I use biofreeze every race.

And I always have gum.

You don't have to worry about the results if the chip happens to...fall off your bib...though I guess you wouldn't want it to fall off until after you run the 10k

My worry is more basic. Do I grab my snack box after the first one or the second one? If I do the first, can I eat my cheese while running?!

Seriously, I was just at a trade show, and a vendor had Werthers out and I had forgotten how yummy they are. So those are now my little bit of fuel during training runs.

My worry is more basic. Do I grab my snack box after the first one or the second one? If I do the first, can I eat my cheese while running?!

One of my friends carried a cheese cup for over 11 miles during the W&D half this year, just so he could hand it off as a surprise to our friend that was spectating, who loves those cheese cups. Said cheese made it into a few course photos!

I'm pretty sure if they ever take the cheese cup out of the snack boxes there would be a mass revolt.

They can change the marathon course, they can make us get up for a 4:30 start time, they can make the race shirts in garish colors...but don't touch the cheese cup.

I would really like marathon morning temp to start with a 4 lol. In my ideal world with a start @ 4:30AM, 43 and dropping to 40 at sunrise would be perfect. Id take light showers if I had to. Race temps up the upper 50's or higher and this thing may turn into a fun run especially if I keep having my runs here in the 40's.

Going to have to make that request in the book at Pinocchio Village Haus lol.
