Marathon Weekend 2025

I almost missed Meeko. He was tucked in a corner - right as you turned into the bus area before entering Epcot, before the area where they allow people to cross - he was back and to the right. There was a CM kind of standing near the course with a sign.

I missed Marie.
You almost had to pass Meeko and look back and to the right. It was an interesting placement.

Dumb question, there was a character right when you enter Tomorrowland on the left. Under the PeopleMover overhang. A kid with spike hair. Assuming I’m showing my age by not knowing who it was, but who the heck is that? I don’t generally do characters, but he had zero people in line so for half a second I thought about stopping.

This kid? Louis from Meet the Robinsons.

Those were characters from Meet the Robinsons. Great movie if you haven't seen it!

Did not run today - but was it the kid from meet the robinsons, Lewis? I asked this same question during maybe the 2020 princess half 😂 he was also in Tomorrowland

After a miserable 10K, today was much improved for me. I got pretty cold waiting to start, after the rain and a bit exposed to the wind, but as soon as we started it was comfortable. I didn't even need the backup shoes and socks I had DH bring down at Bay Lake (though it was nice to hand off my gloves and headband to him).

It was also nice to have @Herding_Cats to run with for the second half of the race, and @Kerry1957 and DD here and there. The cambered roads were really tweaking my PF and right hip though! I'm glad I brought all my rolling devices and theragun with me.

I got some decent course photos, but my castle pic was crap, so I'm happy to have a do-over for that tomorrow.

I started in D and had the most congested runDisney race of my life. …I don’t mind and had a lot of fun today but it was I came to almost a dead stop getting on the walkway between the Poly and MK. Definitely not my favorite half course due to the narrow parts and the lack of World Showcase at the beginning but it was still fun and I loved the characters!!!

I spent so much time in congestion, I think that's why I hurt so much. I'm used to being able to stretch my legs more when I run, so being in crowds means I have to do a more compact shuffle-jog….
Agree with these and other similar assessments. I was also in D and faced terrible congestion through cone alley and to MK via the walkway. I told DH that I thought cone alley was a new level of “heck”: crowded, dark, and full of uneven “divots” that weren’t deep, but felt bad enough that we needed to be extra careful. Walk to wall people. Even trying to be on their “correct” sides, interval runners like us just weren’t able to transition, and the “real” runners to the left couldn’t truly run, but shuffled along at about the same pace as the walkers because they would be tripping over each other! Some people started passing on the right outside the cones. Frustrating.
Still, overall, it was a fun Disney race!

Does anyone have suggestions for spectating AFTER MK? Any way to get from TTC to the second half of course? I know the busses were stuck in traffic last year due to the road closures. Uber might get stuck too. All ideas welcome!

DHS and the Boardwalk are good spots I did that last year and you can switch between them via skyliner - I assume getting to DHS would work as the park is open by that time.

Seeing how many people were there today I cant help but wonder - how does riding EE work tomorrow?

There were a LOT of people today. A constant large wave. If they all try to ride EE as they stream past it will cause a bottleneck a lot bigger than we saw today surely?

I have moleskin I can bring in the morning, though we'll need to hit one of the tents for scissors.
I’m not sure it’s even a blister. It was red, but not puffy or anything. And it’s been less irritated this afternoon so maybe I’ll be ok.

The big news today is that I’ve been able to eat!!! So now I wonder if the whole eating thing was sleep-deprivation related, or if I’m just staying on top of things better. Either way, I’ll take it!

The congestion point today was a mile 4-5 of the half course, which limited the time the field had to spread out before hitting the choke point. EE is at mile 17-18 of the full course. Runner density will be far, far lower at that point with the additional time and distance to disperse. There were also ~3,000 more half participants than marathon participants from the numbers I saw, too. Finally, and probably most importantly, a tiny tiny fraction of the overall runners will be attempting to ride EE. The vast majority will just run past.
