Marathon Weekend 2025

For the first time in forever we’re going to drive tomorrow, coming from CR. For those that drive form a resort, what time are you generally leaving?
I usually leave for the 5k at 2:45am to avoid the long line of cars coming in. Then I recline my seat and take about a 30-45 minute nap before heading to the staging area.

Hope you are doing well. I am only doing the 10k this year. I had a few knee issues. I was thinking about you.
I have happy flashbacks to those FW Days and MW Events. Sorry about the knees, just seems like it's par for the course for many of us.

I'm still recovering from the second wild hog hitting me while bicycling back on July 26, 2022 with the bicycling improving but no comfortable walking.

Be safe this COLD Weekend and ENJOY.

So taxis/van picking me up at 3:15 the next couple of mornings. If I make the meetup is going to depend on a lot of things. Will try to at least remember the Friday ones this time

I need to figure out how to iron my shirt since it’s super wrinkly
This isn’t helpful now but I got a travel steamer to carry in my bag and use it all the time! Mostly for crowned skirts. It’s a good investment. Maybe take a really hot shower and hang it??

Here’s my flat lay! I am the Ariel. All my costumes are themed around books or stories I have taught, and I do an activity with Disney Little Golden books in a few of my classes so I made one! Wearing three layers on bottom tmrw (throwaway leggings, my leggings, and my skirt) and two on top (two swiftlys from LLL). Hoping to stay warm and planning to walk the 5k!

Fun change of plans, thanks to this approaching winter storm!

We were supposed to fly out of ATL on Friday night at 6p, but the incoming snow and ice has the potential to wreak havoc with air travel. So we took Delta's offer to cancel our tickets for a full refund (as a credit, which is just fine with us), and will now drive down to Orlando tomorrow afternoon after we drop the kids and dog off at their respective boarding locations. It's not too long of a drive from Atlanta, and we've done it many times before.

The best part is that we are now going to get some park time on Friday with her CM friend!

Actually, the best part is that I won't have to stress about travel delays on Fri and facing a time crunch to pick up my marathon bib. Peace of mind is priceless.

Appreciate it @jrsharp21 and @The Expert - I’ve seen driving posts over the years but never really absorbed the details, so just trying to think through any unexpected situations like traffic lines, etc. The rental has heated seats that may get put to good use in the morning!
Usually leaving around 2:45a, and pulling in around 3am is pretty seamless. There usually a good stream of cars entering, but no back ups. Just make sure to set an alarm on your phone if you do decide to take a nap.

Good luck everyone running in the morning! I will have my Lightning McQueen gear on tomorrow but probably won’t have it out in the open as I will be overed with a hoodie, blanket and probably a beanie. Just a mess of thrown together stuff to stay warm. But I will have my checkered flag socks on and bright yellow New Balance.

Good luck to those running the 5k! Currently planning to hit the meetup assuming no travel issues. Leaving the Swan at 2:45 and will make a decision on bus vs drive in the morning (basically - I have to walk past the bus pickup to get to the parking lot -so if the bus is there I'll get on - otherwise drive it is!)

I'll be wearing multiple layers as well - no costume - hopefully a little warmer for the 10k!

Just stopped by to wish you and all a Happy and Safe Marathon Weekend :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

McFlurry John
Never officially met you, but always followed your McDonalds’ exploits on the forum and remember when you had your accident. I’ve wondered how you were doing, and am glad to hear from you!

@princesspirateandrunner We will most likely be at the Expo tomorrow sometime between 1-3. We will keep an eye out for y’all.
