Marathon Weekend 2025

Alrighty friends! Here we go!

Welcome to the 2025 version of the Marathon Weekend Dislist! With the help of @Kerry1957 and @The Expert we were once again able to fill @DopeyBadger 's shoes and keep the tradition alive! As always, we are using our best guesses for corral assignments (we based these on the POT thread and the times entered during registration) so I guess we will find out how that went in a week! On a side note, we did have to reduce the file size and therefore the resolution on this to be able to attach it on the boards. If you need a sharper resolution please send me a message and I can email you the larger file.

Super excited to see familiar faces and meet new friends on this trip!
reposting this in case anyone (like me) missed this

Hey guys! I haven’t been in the thread like I have for previous race weekends but I’m at PHL on my way down to pace my friend for the half as he does his first Dopey. Woo!

I tried searching but didn’t see anything - does anyone know if there’s a ******* character stops on course this year? I used one when I did Dopey two years ago and it was great to have an idea of what stops were coming up so I could decide if I was sgppping ahead of time or not!

Edit - dang it, censored. The channels that start with the same three letters as this board. lol. I guess it’s against the rules? Been a while since I was on.

runDIsney appears to use the calculation T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.079, 1:46:24 HM = 5:01:03 M

McMillan uses T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.0735, 1:46:24 HM = 4:59:28 M

Hansons/Riegel use T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.0600, 1:46:24 HM = 4:55:34 M

If runDisney uses the same rate release system they have over the years, then this is the distribution of runners per corral.

Never paid attention to how back-loaded the corrals are. Tells me that if I end up in D (which would hopefully be worst case) then if I could get to the front of the corral, it wouldn't be too ugly.

HM pot 1:43 <8 estimate got me A/A but person in front of me was faster(lower bib #) got A/C and was not pleased. So for those wondering about random bib assignments I can’t add any helpful data other than they appear to be random.
Guessing too many say <8 than can fit in A corral

The bib number is based on PoT, so my speculation is that the person in front of you probably had a faster PoT but put 8-10 as their 5k/10k estimate and got caught in the 8-10 multi-corral mess.

Yeah that’s not unique to MW. The POT corrals tend to be lighter/smaller always

He started arguing immediately about less than 8 and was instructed to head to runner relations. I wanted to say don’t shoot the messenger, nothing volunteers should take flak for but decided to keep to myself
Probably hit the wrong menu button

Hmmm, maybe with 8-10 being split B-D last year, it drove people to <8 just moving the logjam forward. C is very late for a <8.

I’ve been reading your reports of weird Dopey bib/corral combos and just realized… it’s so backward from what it used to be! Mostly? Back when I still did challenges, we called it the Challenge Penalty: almost always, we’d be placed in a slower corral for the longest distance and a faster corral for the shorter distances. If I recall correctly, there was no option to enter an estimated pace for the shorter distances and we assumed rD was assuming anyone doing a challenge would be slower in their longest race. It was annoying.

But now a bunch of Dopey folks are landing in faster corrals for the half and full and slower corrals for the 5K and 10K? That’s just as bizarre as the other direction.

Just got here and the bib line is currently a walk up.

My PoT of 2:06 half and estimate of <8 min/mile resulted in B/B.
Ok, so that’s enough to confirm that <8 min is being split up. Possible that you also get some 8-10 min people in B too, to even it out.

If anyone is still looking for base layers, uniqlo at Disney Springs has a decent selection left of their Heattech stuff. Go upstairs to the back corner for women's. On sale for $14. Their puffer vests and coats are also on sale.

Edit to add mens are also upstairs, straight back from the escalator in the opposite corner from women's.
