Yep, this guy did Everest, Triceratops, and Test Track this past year. Should add Test Track to the list of rides that will be closed for the upcoming race weekend.

When I have used earplugs I get distracted easily and I get into the stories/emotions, either podcasts or songs.. and then my heart rate goes up…
As I have tried training mostly low HR those extra beats are “unnecessary”… then I have learned to just be outside, mind as blank as possible, sometimes mantras, sometimes just counting steps for cadence… overall this has helped to lower my stress as well

A couple of weeks ago, I did 17 miles and thought that the silence and the long hours were going to be an issue, and surprisingly it wasn't..

Big Thunder Mountain is closing for reburbishment on January 6, 2025. Last day of operation will be January 5. Will not reopen until sometime in 2026. Sorry, everyone coming for Marathon Weekend.

They've done this before with refurbs starting at the beginning of MW. I realize that there is no "good" time to take a ride out of service for refurb, but to continue to deliberately do it on the eve of a weekend designed to bring more visitors to the park? I don't get that. Why not take it out of service on medal Monday? Seems like more of the "how much can we tick off our customer base while they continue to hand us their money?" strategy.

Because the races aren’t designed to fill the parks. The races are there to fill the hotels during the times of the year when people aren’t traveling to Disney World (in-between Halloween and Thanksgiving, after Christmas and New Year’s, after MLK and President’s day, and after Spring Break and before summer break). Disney doesn’t care about annual pass holders because they don’t bring money to the parks, and I’d guess a fair amount of people at rundisney events have APs.

Dumb question, always a lot of talk about riding EE, but could one potentially ride Triceratops Spin? We run right by there.

I know DinoLand has its strong critics, but that silly little area has a lot of fond memories for this family, even those way too expensive carnival games. I admit I will be sad to see it go.

I love this idea... I have strong love of DinoLand since my son is dino obessed ... I like that idea of riding it... may be quicker than everest too which is nice for slow people like me. I am putting this as a possible idea depending on my speed.

I'm kind of irritated by this. My best friend/travel partner for MW has a limited number of roller coasters that she tolerate riding with her motion sickness. BTM is one of them (Dwarves is usually questionable and I suspect that Tron is going to be a no-go). We already have tickets for After Hours on the 13th. At this point, it had better be a nice night for Tiana's or we're going to be spending a lot of time on It's a Small World and Pirates.

I’m slightly terrified for the price tag of “official brooks race weekend shirts.”

Can anyone expand on this, as my experience is entirely post-covid with their in-house-provided shirts at the expo, and I haven’t run any big races where a major brand would be a sponsor
