Marathon Weekend 2024

SAFD: Someone went with the MCU already, so I'm going to break into Star Wars and say Emperor Palpatine. The man is deceitful, plays a young boy, regularly pits two apprentice against one another, and orders a whole planet full of people to be blown up. Yep, pure evil!

SAFD: I don't know if it counts as cross training, but I do Kung Fu three nights a week. It's fairly leg-intensive but we do work in some stretching and bodyweight/core work most classes. I have started and stopped various strength and stretching programs but I haven't managed to stick with any of them. After the Disneyland race weekend is over I'm going to try again.
And now I have “Kung Fu Fighting” playing in my head…

SAFD: Gaston, Ursula, Scarlett, and Maleficent are all excellent villains from some of my favorite films and close contenders for favorite. I'm also really fond of Charles Muntz because he is unexpected. The old man fight in UP is pretty hilarious.

SAFD: I’m not really a villain person, so I asked my kids. 3 yo said Darth Vader, 6 yo said Palpatine.

As for touring during race weekends, we have APs, so we never feel like we need to be going all the time.
2023 was my first Dopey. We’ll rope drop after the 5k and 10k, take a pool break where I just soak in the hot tub, then go back to the parks for a bit. The hardest part for me is coming back to the hotel at a decent time.
This last trip we had extended family with us, so we ended up staying late in MK before the half. That made the wake-up so hard, and I ended up sleeping for most of Saturday.

SAFD: For pure evil, Palpatine - always and forever.
For best full-circle storyline, Anakin-Vader will always have my heart.
Animated? I like my Villains to have a sense of humor, or at least impeccable comedic timing: Yzma & Kronk and Hades take top billing.

SAFD: I really don't have a favorite villain, but a memorable one is the Headless Horseman from the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I used to watch the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad so much when I was a kid. The Headless Horseman and his jack-o'-lantern head is something I just have always remembered.

Chernobog, the demon from Night on Bald Mountain in Fantasia. I was really young when it was re-released in 1969 and that vignette scared the fool out of me. That and flying monkeys and an old lady on a bicycle in a tornado.

I saw this too. And UGH. What can't it be on the 8th? Then I would easily be able to do medal pics in MK and then join in for DATW, instead of trying to decide if we want to track the group down at 2pm.

I'm feeling the same... I really enjoy this group, but medal pics at MK will come first

2pm is still early in DATW! Get your pics and come on over and join up!
