Marathon Weekend 2024

I don’t know what the theme is except for the motif of fireworks but I do like the gem toned color scheme with contrast.

I’m going to be registering for Dopey though. GAH.

ETA: Seems like the recurring motifs are fireworks and park icons. I like how the Goofy art does world showcase.

I don't fully get the HM artwork. Why did they have Donald bonk at the end while Daisy is having a great finish? ***!?!

Ohhhh I love it! And the colours are soooo nice.

I'm selfishly hoping everyone hates it though, so I'll have less competition at the time of registration
Going to say something that I hope bodes well for everyone registering: I merely *like* it. No strong feelings. Feels like they're going back to basics after two MWs that went way heavy on theming that was appropriate for the time (50th for 2022, 90s theme for the 30th anniversary).

I like the themes and art work. It's not over the top special, but it's not terrible, either. Very happy to have Chip and Dale remaining on the 10k! Hopefully, this hits the "ok" sweet spot of good enough to be generally enjoyed, but not good enough to draw a lot of extra attention and interest.

Perhaps I need to look at the artwork some more after work, but what is the them of the race? I like the artwork that I saw, but I don't understand what the theme is.

I don't know that "theme" is really the right term, but it's what we're using.

Last year's was blatantly 90s 80s stuff.

This year there are park icons in ALL of the shirts.
There's some initial speculation that maybe the icons for each race are going to be indicative of the course. For example:
- the 5k only has epcot,
-the full/goofy/dopey have all 4 icons

but where this theory gets iffy is:
-the HALF has epcot, mk, and a dinosuar on it? Does that mean AK, or the dino in the pond in HS? OK so I looked and it's clearly Gertie from HS. And what's the deal with the boat? (Or is my memory really bad and that boat is also in HS?)
-the 10k has MK and Epcot. Does that indicate going back to the older W&D 10k course that started in MK?

And last year the 10k had all of the park icons.

It's nice that it's a cohesive set, and that touches in all of the pics have consistent parts (fireworks, the lines with the white dots, etc)

I really like these. Selfishly, I'm happy they didn't go with a Disney 100 theme because I think I would have had more FOMO due to my decision to sit out Dopy next year. It's probably a good idea to do a little more "back to basics" after 2 theme heavy years.

Oh dang Echo Lake in HS does have the dinosaur and a boat! I had just chalked the boat up to the fact that Donald wears a sailor outfit but that would be really cool if the courses were shaken up a bit!

I figured we were getting a free cruise with registration! :p
But I noticed what you did and would LOVE if they switched up the courses in this way! I guess we won't officially know until they either clarify with the blog post once it's released or until the event guide haha.
I am not seeing the Castaway Cay Challenge. Is that usually included in the theming release?
It was last year, I believe. I think maybe we got that theming a few days after, but usually you can at least see the pricing for it with all the available events.

Ooh, is there a chance the half marathon ends at a different place than it begins? If the graphic is giving hints, could it start at Epcot, run through DHS, and end at MK?
