Marathon Weekend 2024

SAFD: Tough to say. When I get back into World Showcase I’m usually looking to enjoy whatever festival is ongoing and have more of a relaxed stroll in the park. Despite too much time during rD races getting acquainted with them, I don’t know the exact layout of the backlot areas; so I’m not sure where the space realistically exists to add something. I would prefer nothing be taken away in an effort to add more attractions. For example, although I love Coco I’d be crestfallen if they removed or re-themed Gran Fiesta Tour for a Coco attraction.

My inclination would be to do something in the Great Britain/Canada area. I am a left from Future World, right from International Gateway Epcot explorer. GB and Canada are almost always our last stop and (gasp) sometimes even go unvisited. I know Cherry Tree Lane was planned for GB before the pandemic, but I’m not sure what type of attraction could accompany it to make it appealing.

I’m hoping the Test Track overhaul is something much more exciting than the current iteration. Seems like they are still planning to team with Chevrolet, so my dream of a Sugar Rush themed racing attraction seems unlikely.

I'm adding a 1+ to all of these!
SAFD: I'd add a Luca/Vespa ride in Italy

SAFD: Either a Coco ride in Mexico, or a Big Hero 6 ride in Japan.

SAFD: I would like to see a Mary Poppins themed ride.
I was literally just thinking about a Mary Poppins ride in UK, sort of like the Peter Pan ride in MK.

Course, then @Mr_Incr3dible goes to say that Canada really needs something and now I'm thinking about a Turning Red ride with a giant red panda stomping around Toronto. Could be good!

SAFD: Epcot is such a tricky park for them to update. You have the fans who want it to keep it's original intention, and a lot of character rides don't really match with it. And then you have the people who would love to see characters added to the pavilions.
A vespa ride in Italy similar to Remy in Italy, could be cool. I'm trying to think of something for Canada or the UK pavilion, but I can't think of anything. I think first and foremost, the ride should work if you remove the character (think Gran Fiesta Tour - that ride would still work for Mexico if you removed the characters, but Frozen wouldn't)

SAFD: It will never happen under the current Disney management but I'd complete the Rhine River dark ride. Every new ride doesn't need to be a thrill ride, and I say that as a frequent Cedar Point season pass holder that loves roller coasters. I also wish we had more immersive country tour experiences in WS, like the France, Canada, and China movies, instead of just more IP thrown into the country that it belongs with (or doesn't as in the Norway pavilion)..

Have we analyzed the timing of the event guides before 😊 like if nothing appears by 2pm ET it’s probably not happening that day?

Event guide really should be today, RIGHT? Don't they like to release things on Mondays...
