Interesting the dining plan begins for arrivals after marathon weekend. I just find that really funny for some reason.

Disney has announced that they're going to remove park reservation requirements in 2024. Of course, they're implementing the change the day after MW.

At least we won't need park reservations for DATW!

You are absolutely right. The calendar in my checkbook register ended with 2023 and I obviously can't add correctly when extrapolating dates. I fear I've also outed my age a bit. If anyone needs to know what a checkbook register is, please DM me.

I just figure thousands of runners fresh off running a marathon are the one situation where Disney loses money on the dining plan! So of course they'd start right after.

• Attend Hurricane Hannah's and pre-race meet-ups to see old friends and put faces to screen names for new ones
• Run all 4 races at training paces so I'm ready to transition into training for my March A race
• DATW
• Bonus goal: not bring back any random illnesses

Blackbeard's revenge? Which distance? What is the date? Not committing yet but might be able to consider it. Keeping positive that the knee is finally going in the right direction.

Definitely Blackbeard's Revenge on March 23rd. I haven't 100% decided on the distance yet, so your decision might provide a tipping point!

I want to see how the next couple of races in the little known "camaker's Bad Ideas Race Series" go before finalizing a decision. I think I'm going to test out a couple of things this fall.

First off is whether I can run an ultra as a mid-cycle training race as prep for a bigger event. The current plan is to run the Sugg Farm Ultra (40 miles) on Sept 9th and immediately resume training for a longer race on October 14th. The race will be very hilly, but it's run ~ 1/2 mile from my house and I'm hoping the slower training pace will offset some of the hilly redonkulousness.

The October 14th race is the Cape Fear 24 hour Endurance Challenge. It'll be a new type of race for me and I want to test out a couple of things. First off is a focus on taking in more nutrition than I normally do to see if the chills that knocked me out of the Blackbeard 100 miler a year ago can be pushed past/avoided. Second is to see how close I can come to the 100 mile mark in 24 hours. My distance PR is 76 miles in ~18.5 hours, so if I can get past the physical breakdown and close to 100 under these conditions, it would be a huge mental confidence boost for completing the 100 miles at Blackbeard's. The downside is that the race is entirely run as 0.59 mile loops within a park. Booorriiinggg!!

The outcome of these trials and whether you want to come run it, @garneska, will weigh heavily on the choice of next year's distance.

Simplifying the Disney Genie+ experience: We have heard from guests that they would like ways to plan with Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane selections before the day of their park visit, and we want you to know we are working on ways guests may do this for visits in 2024. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to spend less time planning in the park and more time enjoying your visit with friends and family. While we are not yet able to share specific details, we look forward to sharing more information at a later date.

This is funny. They already had this in FastPass+.
