Marathon Weekend 2017!

I've actually enjoyed the mild and snowless January we've had in CT. 4 miles every other day at my pace and when I want to. Now about those cars.... oops that's another thread!

Two other things:
1.Although I'm still fired up, the weather is definitely conspiring against me. I've only been running for 5 years, but Saturday was the first time I've totally quit on a run. I've shaved off a mile or two here and there, but on Saturday, I meant to do 9 miles, and tanked at about 2.5. Wind gusts over 20mph made it feel like the lower teens.
It made me nostalgic for the weather during the WDW marathon!

2. Love you username! Did you hear that Capaldi is leaving after the next series?

Not the person you asked, but I had NOT heard that. Bummer. I've really enjoyed Capaldi's take on the Doctor.

I'm always bummed when we lose a Doctor, but I always come around to the new Doctor soon enough. That's the beauty of the show

This is true and Capaldi was a difficult adjustment after Tennant and Smith - he was just so different. But, I pretty quickly grew to love his approach to the Doctor. And that Christmas episode with him and River Song playing off each other was pure gold.

But, as you say, I'm sure I'll like the next Doctor as well - and if I don't it will only be a matter of time until we get a new one.

I was in that boat about 12 years ago. To date, I still haven't tackled another marathon, but I've really been enjoying the 5k, 10k, half marathon scene for the past 7-8 years.

Okay, I really don't mean to hijack this thread, but since Scrooge McDuck was there for pictures during Marathon Weekend, it's KIND OF relevant...

That was my thought too. Never been a Dr. Who fan so I really know him as Kilgrave. Kilgrave and Scrooge don't really mix.

I'm not but I'm not too happy that I ran the Miami half on Sunday,Basically weather in the 50's and rainy or sprinkling the entire race.I literally knew that same night I was getting sick,I felt so horrible last night with a fever and the chills that I slept from last night around 9pm through 1pm today and obviously had to skip work.I rarely get fevers and my body hasn't felt this bad in forever,so whatever I got I got it good,hope it goes away quick.The race itself was the same as its been in the past,basically not my favorite and they moved the expo to Marlins park which sounds good but honestly its just not big enough,the packets and booths were all in the concourses which are not wide enough for all the people.As far as the race I ran a decent time and felt great at the end,unfortunately 12 hours later not so much!!Probably won't be running this race for several years.
