Marathon Weekend 2017!

As far as the near freezing conditions did anyone else see a guy running without a shirt?I saw him inside AK and I know at this point the sun was up but I'm sorry it was still like 44 degrees out!!

I didn't see the guy at Sunday's marathon, but that reminds me of a guy who runs shirtless in my parents' neighbourhood. All. The. Time. In Canada.

There were two guys that I saw a couple times along the course running together; one as The Genie and the other as Genie Jafar. They were both body painted and had really gone all out with their costumes. Pretty impressive, they had to be quite cold.
^ Definitely one of my favorite costumes that I saw. I asked them to grant my wish to make the day warmer. Sadly, it didn't work.

I saw a man dressed as Elsa and asked him to get his powers under control. He told me he's been trying to stop concealing and to start feeling.

There was a man who was running barefoot. Literally barefoot. Crazy!

What is that "Biofreeze Stuff", so much runners used at the Medstations?

And was it because of the cold, that so many runners were stretching along the course? I saw the first runners stretching right before Mile 1!

Let's do this one more time...

Good morn...er, evening, runDisney All- Stars! It's approximately 52 weeks from the 2018 marathon.

Today's Sundays are for Disney question: With marathon weekend in the books, how YOU doing?
Little bit late, but anyway :)

Sunday after the race, my legs were a mess. We took a short nap and were walking a little bit. For dinner we visited a buffet restaurant and every walk to get something to eat was hard.

Today I feel much better, a little bit sore, but compared to yesterday it's ok. The stairs at ToyStory Midway Mania were a little bit challenging. But walking the parks was just right. At the HS parking lot, I tried to catch the tram and ran, a Castmember yelled "Stop running, you already did that yesterday" :-D

I don't know about the stretching, but Biofreeze is like Bengay/Icy Hot. :)

Also a little late for a Sunday question (Tuesday morning, heading to Animal Kingdom today) but here goes.

I had major blister issues with my shoes since I started running in them a couple of weeks before the marathon and my older shoes were out of the "running" (so to speak) due to knee pain on long runs. I thought I had the blister issue worked out with Engo patches but I ended up with 3 blisters including one that was really annoying right under the joint where the big toe meets the foot. The one that stopped hurting about an hour into the marathon turned out to be a blood blister.

On Sunday and Monday, the blisters were a problem although the dreaded leg pain (particularly since my quads were cramping up around mile 25) hasn't materialized. I do have knee pain in left knee that will require monitoring and what I think might be a stress fracture in my right foot. I'll have to see my doctor after returning home to Canada next week (I don't think injuries sustained during a marathon would be covered under my travel health insurance).

But medals last forever!

Thanks for all the responses about race merch. I stopped in at Mouse Gear and asked the people there if they knew where to buy anything. They told me the ESPN store at WWoS would but I haven't gotten there yet. Touring with the family is putting a cramp in my shopping :)

Co-op is where the phone cases are.

I know they'll have stuff at the Disney outlet in the next few days. That's off property near Disney Springs though so you would need a car or taxi.
Hmm we are driving out to,the airport today maybe I can leave a little early stop in there and WWoS. Thanks

So this was definitely an interesting race weekend. We dressed up as the dapper dans for the marathon. It was a fun costume to run in, but I really wish we could sing. We wound up stopping for 26 different official disney pictures. The only ones we missed were ones where the characters weren't there.
