Marathon Weekend 2017!

Anyone else seeing the forecast for Sunday? High of 57! I'm guessing the southerners won't agree with me, but that's going to feel great.

And, yes, I know the forecast will change two dozen times before then, but I'm optimistic.

Wow that high just keeps dropping. Might end up throwing in a cold weather outfit just in case the forecast keeps going that way. Hopefully I don't need it but precautions is good.

The various forecasting services are all over the place for Saturday, but only one has the high below 65. Me - I'd rather have highs in the 80s every day. Not trying to PR anything, and I hate WDW in the cold. If it is that cold, I'll just watch football from my hotel room after the marathon.

There's is plenty of signage. They don't just dump you off at WWoS and expect you to find everything scavenger hunt-style. :thumbsup2

Signs and CMs galore - no worries! If you're going to study the floor plans for anything I'd just focus on specific booths you want to visit (i.e. You know you really want to visit Fit2Run, etc.).

The bibs (in their own building), race shirts and official merchandise are the biggest areas and will be easy to spot. :)

This would be one way to bring back the EE Challenge ;)

I do my own expo scavenger hunt every race. Its called the "Which refillable cup station isnt sold out of Ace Pineapple Cider" hunt. So far I have only lost once.

Agreed. Ohioan here - but I hate cold. Cant adapt even now. I do better with temps in the 70's for running, and am seemingly unphased by humidity. The only thing that gets me is that last stretch of World Drive and running straight toward the surface of the sun. I am in layers for anything starting in the 60's!

I'll give you the highs in the 80s as long as the lows are in the 40s.

Weather forecasts are definitely all over the map. Rain forecast for Saturday has swung up and down all day, which tells me they have no clue what the weather is going to do. Overnight low Friday looks nice, but might need to have some contingencies in place on the off chance we have to wait around in the rain. I don't really mind if I get rained on some once the race starts, but I wouldn't much look forward to waiting around a couple hours in a steady drizzle.

My last first-timer tip: Lasting Commemoratives has a tent set up by the exit of the Reunion Area where they can do on-demand medal engraving (name, date, time) for $20. You can pay cash or card there OR you can pre-pay at the Expo.

They weren't engraving Challenge Medals in 2016, so I don't know about those and if they've changed protocol.

Weather looks fantastic for running. My children may be a little disappointed since all they keep asking if they can go swimming.

The weather forecast for Sunday is absolutely PERFECT for running! heading to goodwill tomorrow to
Pick up some sweats to wear while waiting for he race to start. I am so excited!!!! There is nothing that compares to running the marathon at Disney!!!

Good pointer @Keels. If you want your medal engraved, I recommend bringing the cash, though. After last year's marathon there were so many people using electronic devices in the area that they couldn't get a signal through for credit card authorizations. I didn't have cash and was unable to get my first marathon medal engraved, as a result.

Sunday looks perfect...I would MUCH prefer a cooler race weekend overall. I think that really helped me a lot in 2015. I'm coming up with some different options for the races - packing tights, visors, etc. Originally I was thinking it would be a warmer weekend (race temps in the 70s)...guess not!

Getting so close!! :yay:

If you have to wear extra clothes while waiting for a race to start, the weather is not perfect...

Just sayin'...
