Marathon Weekend 2017!

Breakfast: AK - Tusker House (not very original, but our favorite breakfast place)
Lunch: Epcot - Via Napoi (Best pizza in Disney World)
Dinner: MK - Liberty Tree Tavern (I am a sucker for a Thanksgiving feast)
Snack: DS - Mickey Premium Bar (not really specific to DS, but I can get it there)

I can help you with shirts. I made something similar for Dopey this year.

I'm also about to make a large order from Bella + Canvas for Christmas and Marathon Weekend, so it's easy-peasy.
I'm thinking about making a dopey shirt too. I have a general idea maybe but I'm still not sure.

ack! my fp+ window is open. I can check in... but it won't let me make fast passes past 30 days. Not quite sure what is going on.... So one thing is recognizing i'm 60 days out.. but the other thing isn't... help!

Do you have a ticket linked to the reservation? That is what is stopping me--time to buy tickets!

Yes you need to have tickets linked in order to make the Fastpasses 60 days out.

So I am going to be purchasing tickets in the next couple days in order to start making FP+ reservations and had a couple quick questions:

1. Should one Memory Maker be good for all of our linked MDE accounts for pictures both in the parks and during the races? We will have over 10 linked accounts with 8 runners in an assortment of races (2 Dopey, 3 5K and 10K, 1 Half, and 2 Kid's Races).

2. Are there any rides other than Frozen Ever After and Toy Story Midway Mania that virtually require FP+? I'm relatively unaware of which rides in MK and AK tend to have the longest lines.

I believe one memory maker should be good unless someone corrects me on that.

2. Frozen ever after is a definite. Toy story mania isn't so much a required FP anymore because they added a third track. In MK seven dwarfs mine train is a must for FP if you want to ride that. AK maybe Everest but even that doesn't have terribly long lines usually.

Make sure you're scrolling all the way through the FP+ calendar. In the example of a 1/7/17 checkin date what happens, and it can be deceiving is that a FP+ window will show 11/7 - 12/7 [30 days] and then be blocked out from 12/8 until your checkin date 1/7/17. So, if you simply see it dropping off in December and don't look at January you'll think it's not available..... but it is really there. Or as the others said, make sure your tickets are linked to your account.

It was a glitch apparently. my tickets were linked, hotel reservation were there.. I was all checked in and everything.... i just was greyed out in december and january wasn't even an option to scroll to. I was wondering if it was getting screwy because I had my stuff on there for my princess reservations..... I had to get technical support to fix it. I'm all set and even got a FEA and 7DMT fast pass...so it turned out ok!

Thanks guys for the tips!

Speaking of FP+, can anyone offer any insights on why Wishes isn't an option? We get in late-ish on Friday, so I don't mind burning an FP on Wishes and the new projection show.

Also, are park hours subject to change? I feel like MK is closing pretty early Friday night, which bums me out because it leaves less time after Wishes for taking photos and hopping on rides.

Good morning, runDisney All-Stars! Nine weeks until the marathon! I hope everyone is feeling awesome and getting pumped.

This week's Sundays are for Disney question is one I do with my family from time to time. It's fun to see what everyone's answer is.

Four parks, four meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack), what do you choose? You have to use each park, so no doubling up on Epcot or something like that. No resorts!

Breakfast: Starring Rolls, HS
Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ, AK
Dinner: La Hacienda de San Angel, Epcot
Snack: Dole Whip, MK

P.S. I'm going to need some contributed questions to help get us through the last few weeks, PM me your suggestions!
ATTQOTW:
Breakfast: Rainforest Cafe, AK (seriously underrated)
Lunch: Sci-Fi Drive-In, HS
Dinner: Rose & Crown, Epcot (finished with Illuminations over Irish Coffee and Jaffa Tarts)
Snack: Mac n' Cheese from The Friar's Nook, MK

Contributed question: Based on your experience and/or expectations, where/what is your lowest point in the Disney Marathon and what one thing could be waiting for you there that would lift your spirits the most?

They don't offer a FP for wishes anymore. It was a budget cut move to save money for having to station CMs at the FP areas.

Question for all--
I'm ordering a shirt to wear for the race. I wanted something clever that would get me encouragement along with way. I'll need it! I also need ideas (and if there's a place you recommend ordering from, I'd welcome suggestions)
Here's what I think I'll do, with my name and then checkboxes for each one so I can check them off with a sharpie upon completion....
My list for Jan 8
1. turn 50
2. run 1st marathon
3. eat cake (celebrate, party, ??)

Too nerdy?
Happy 50th - welcome to the club! Want people to yell encouragement? Then how about "RUN [insert name] RUN!!!"

My "struggle" was around Mile 17 on Osceola Parkway heading in to Wide World of Sports. I was hungry, I was hot, I was tired of just running along the street with nothing to distract me. I told my besties that I wanted to take an extra walk break here because my legs felt like lead and I could use another break. My friend S yells "Yeah? Well, your legs are going to feel like lead when you're sitting on a bus so let's get this going." And I started to cry. B asked if I needed to put my headphones in for a minute and be by myself. I nodded, pulled my sunglasses on, headphones in and then got my s#!+ together and kept moving along.

But the ground was LITTERED with french fries from McDonald's that people had obviously been handing out prior to our arrival along that stretch. I would've punched a kitten for french fries right then. I KNOW that even if I just had a little Happy Meal bag of them, it would've been a big difference maker.

So, in 2017, my sweet mama is going to be waiting along that stretch with McDonald's fries for us!

Second answer would be if I could see my puppers (particularly Little Dog) somewhere between the exit of WWoS and the entrance to DHS. I LOVE seeing dogs out on the course - I will legit pet every dog I see (with the owner's permission, of course!) on Disneyland courses - and that's what I feel like I'm missing the most on WDW courses.

Finished my Dopey test run today. I did 34 miles (4,5,9,16) over 4 days. Felt so good on the 16 today, that I could have easily gone 2 miles or more at the same pace. I did the exact same test last year, but I ran faster on each of the last 3 days this year. Feel confident that Dopey 2017 will go great! :yay:
