If anyone is looking for a hotel deal, PM me. I already have DVC at Beach Club booked but a pal just got her group rate and I'm adding on extra nights at Beach Club for $266/night. She also has a group rate at POR, ASM and BWI. I'm not sure what the rates are for those hotels, but the Beach Club rate is almost $200/night cheaper than what Disney is currently offering on the website.

Yeah - it's like she had read my mind. I JUST looked today to extend our stay (now that my BFF is coming to run Dopey - that way we'll stay at the hotel and won't bother everyone when we leave in the morning), but I wasn't ready to pay the $400+/night for everyone else to sleep in when I couldn't.

This is a rate I'm MUCH more comfortable with for the two of us!

That's a great Beach Club rate! I am at POFQ for just like $30/night cheaper. I wonder how mad my group would be if I jumped ship and left their rooms at POFQ? lol

Will the holiday lights still be on the castle for Marathon weekend? I have never seen them before and that would be a great bonus!

I'm not sure if they have released a schedule, someone else may be able to help with that, but they have been the last few years and this year the race weekend is earlier so it would seem likely. Earlier corrals have a pretty good chance of getting there while it is still dark and the contrast looks pretty cool. I think later corral runners have the risk of not getting there quickly enough and the lights could either be turned off or the effect limited by sunlight.

We were towards the back both for the half and full and they were still lit up! That said - it was also REALLY foggy, especially on half day, so it was a little hard to get the full experience.

They should be. There is no guarantee but Disney has left their decor up until the third week in January the last couple years.

Not all of the decor. In 2015, they pulled down the Christmas tree and related decorations in the courtyard behind Boardwalk in the middle of the night before the 10k, making a short night of sleep even shorter.

I should've said parks decor. Resort decor always goes up later and comes down earlier than the parks. Epcots christmas tress gets taken down before New Years because they need the space for the big New Years fireworks crowds.

Yeah, the Christmas tree was down in EPCOT this year by the half marathon. I remember @FFigawi texting me that I just had to make it around the tree and it was home stretch ... and I kept running and running and was like "what effing tree???? This one? THIS ONE? WHAT TREE?!?". No idea he meant the Christmas tree until I was finished.
