I can't imagine they would change Goofy.

I would not be surprised to see them offer up a 10K/Half challenge and name it something else. Perhaps someone pressed a button too soon about something new, or just did not proof something very well.

Just looking at that email, it has to be a typo on Goofy. Hopefully, no one signs up thinking it's 10k & half only to find out they have a full to run, uh oh! You would think everyone would read the website where it says half & full, but I've come to the conclusion people don't read stuff.

They still call it "Goofy's Race and a Half" in the title, so the description is just a typo.

They also left off the mile for the kids races, atleast I hoped that's what happened or my older boys are going to be upset.

I don't see them adding a 10k/half challenge, the marathon is the ultimate race that weekend so that's where the challenge is it. There's enough 10k/half challenges no need for another in my opinion. But, good luck to everyone registering early tomorrow& next week, I'm out for 2017 since I'm doing Lumiere's challenge!

Man...runDisney is sort of a disorganized mess lately.

Who is ready for early registration tomorrow?? Also anyone ever do Castaway Challenge? Wondering how registration works for that? I have my cruise reservation.... Can you register for your race of choosing and the challenge at the same time or do it separately? Thanks in advance!

Doing my Dopey deferral tomorrow. Also going to try and sign up my wife for the 5k and 10k - we both have APs, so we will try to get them done. If not, we will sign her up when the regular sign-ups happen next week.

My wife has a bunch of friends that are on the fence about joining her for this, but she is in!

Yeah, that would not be good! I too definitely think it's a typo, but runDisney should send out a clarification/correction email. The website very clearly still describes it the same as always, but I already see a couple people on Twitter thinking they changed it. I could definitely see people neglecting to look at the website and just going off of that, and signing up for it thinking it's a change. And there's really no way they'd think anything otherwise until they show up on race weekend. Can you imagine - these naive people showing up to run Goofy and arriving on 10K race morning thinking that's one of their races? Yikes.

Another reason I doubt they'd change Goofy is it would make it pretty much impossible to run the 10K by itself. The 10Ks for every race weekend always go so fast because of challenges and the popularity of the distance, but add in 2 challenges taking up spots and there'd be nothing left. Too bad they can't add capacity to the 10K because of how in demand it is. If they can have 20,000 people do a half marathon that takes twice as long, couldn't they make a few extra corrals for the 10K as well? There's obviously some reason they don't, but I don't know what it is.

Just curious did anyone actually do the Runner World VIP Dopey. I still think I would just go with the regular signup bust was interested to hear anyone who did this last year.

Maybe they are worried that if they increase it too much it will take longer to sell. They could also be looking at a larger jump for Dopey next year.

I think they're trying their best to avoid the $200 mark for the half. $200 for a full is rare enough, but asking people to pay $200 for a half is a whole different matter.

Where do you go to register early as an AP holder? I looked at the runDisney site but didn't see anything.
