So quick question.(again!) my family registered for race retreat chear squad and I registered for race retreat, but they got a wrist band and I did not. Am I supposed to have one? If so, who do I contact to get it? Thanks! Having a blast in Disney so far!

Good luck 10Kers! I may pop out of my room in the morning to do some cheering as my room is right along the route back into Epcot near the beach club.

Anyways I have a question. Does anyone know where to get the customized marathon weekend cases? I want one for the half.

Thanks! Of course basketball season is just now getting going so he's out for that. We're thinking he can still do some off season baseball work with his team, so he's trying to be positive. Honestly, he's probably taking it better than momma is

OMG what a day! Left house at 5am.Due to various transportation issues, didn't get to bib pick up until almost 1:30. Just after get my bib, DS school calls and they think he's got a broken arm. Made it to Jostens to actually get my shirt and expo around 3:30 after coordinating medical care. And by 7pm it's confirmed broken. Finally got into hotel room at 8pm. First day of vacation is a bust. It can only go up from here.

I am sorry to hear this! Hope he gets to feeling better soon and that you will still be able to enjoy this weekend.

Gooooooo 10kers! I assume the course is the same as 2014. The initial out and back is a snooze... but the loop around the boardwalk/yacht club/beach club area is really fun. My wife was at the boardwalk bakery with a baked goods... May the force be with you all

I am in the last corral. Annoyed! I have never been stuck there. Unfortunately, could not get a proof of time race in time. Accustomed to prior participation with team in training where we had more calendar time to meet deadlines.

Any tips???

Will use it as motivation to go go go once we can get going. But so discouraging.

If we do Disney again, I will remember to log proof of time sooner. (We plan to do the volunteer route the rest of this year and next year.)

So apparently waking up yesterday impaired my ability to do the alphabet and read a corral map. Because Corral L isn't last. (Quite literally, I was trying to figure out how they were weaving on those last 4 corrals thinking they were ummm...sooner in the alphabet.)

It also impaired my ability to sleep in today. Wide awake at 4am. Good luck 10Kers and Dopey runners.

Question--is it my imagination...or did folks do Dopey before there was even a Dopey. I did Goofy in 2011 and could have sworn reading at some point about folks joking about being Dopey and adding the 5K and 10K even though there was no
Medal. So when did Dopey become formal and anyone recall this?

Any off siters from recent years Able to comment on parking procedure for tomorrow (half day)?

We stayed offsite in 2011 and got in early enough to make Epcot parking, but I have no clue of what time I arrived. I know lots close at 5am. But the road closures start at 3:30 with the road by the entrance to Epcot appearing to close at 4ish.

My other thought is to just park at TTC as that may be wear my husband is parking later if he tries to arrive when parking is free.

Take world drive in from the south (i4/192) is the easiest by far.. You'll never make it to the ttc everything north of the Epcot turnoff on world drive closes by 345/4. I've found any roads that are not world drive get crazy with all the diverted traffic

I'm aiming to be at the compound by 400/415 and never had travel issues (coming in from Davenport)

Tips for the rest of the family? I was hoping to have him arrive by 7 at TTC. Will that not be possible? Once on property, between parking and monorailing to EPCOT and walking to the finish area, this would give them about 2 hours to work with. Bad plan? I am assuming 30 minutes to cross the start mat and a 3 hour finish depending on people traffic for the first couple of Miles. So trying to have them at the finish by 9am coming from
Off site. (Coming too much earlier than 7am may not be manageable.)

Would sucking It up and paying the parking fee and just driving straight to epcot be better? Suggestions for a 9am finish line arrival are appreciated.

Let's see math wise last corral starts at 630/640 and ttc parking lot is miles 3/4 so I'd say road clear wouldn't be before 730ish at the earliest so To me ttc is a bad idea esp if it's only to avoid the parking fee.. (Which unless you were going around the 'back' which would be closed since it's the back half of the course you'd prob have to pay the fee anyway cause they'd be in 'breakfast mode' about then anyway with a 9 am open)

honestly I'd realize time= money, aim for semi closer to your expected finish (say 815/830) and pay the parking fee knowing they are right where they need to be with less time to entertain the kids.. Plus itd be good all day if you were planning park time later...

I'd hate for them to have parking issues, monorail issues etc and miss you finish..

So if I have him leave our present hotel by about 7:45 and target an 8:15/8:30 arrival (we are within 15 minutes, so buffer is for traffic unless you think we need more) and just hang in the Epcot area, he will be good?

I think they added the 10k in 2014 and that was the year they made Dopey an official challenge. Before that people would do the 5k+Goofy and call it an unofficial Dopey. i think if you go way back they used to run the half and the full at the same time so their wasn't even an option for Goofy.
