Marathon Weekend 2016

I use a variety of calculators that I've compiled from different sources (Hansons and Ben Rappoport) to determine carbohydrate, calorie, and liquid consumption. Without trying to be too personal, with your weight (lbs), estimated time goal, and VO2 max I could give you an estimate as to how many calories/carbohydrates you would need to consume during the race.

I'll take you up on it. I weigh 192lb, goal of 1:59 for the full (but for now let's just say 3:45), VO2max is 50.0
 
I just saw on the DVC boards that Soarin is going down for refurb Jan 4th. I'm used to splash being down during marathon weekend, but no soarin will be a bummer.

That's a huge bummer, my kids will be disappointed. Get those Test Track FP+'s as soon as possible.
 
Through the summer. It's some sort of major refurb.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It was one of the major things I needed to do before the end of next year' strip. I had never done it and we're taking an extended break from Disney. So I guess I will have to wait until 2019.
 
Oh man. How long will it be down for?
The planned re-opening is Summer 2016

The entire queue is getting redone. The theaters are getting upgraded for the switch to the new film and they are bringing the new 3rd theater online.
I was hoping they were going to build the third theater first and then once it was online bring the other 2 theaters down to upgrade them. That way the ride would be impacted but wouldn't have to be closed so long.
 
Today was supposed to be my fall marathon. I am bummed that I didn't get to run it. I wish I had gone to the doctor sooner. I might have gotten this resolved sooner and gotten back in shape to run it. Oh well, I did 4 miles on the treadmill instead. It was in the 20's this morning and I just haven't gotten my cold weather clothes yet so inside it was.

Completed the Detroit Marathon today and besides a sore knee am very happy with the effort and got a PR! I think it is time to look at a new shoe. My local running shoe store holds an injury clinic where they look at your gait, work on it and make sure you are in the right shoe. I think I am going to check this out. Knee soreness is a new thing for me. Seems like if it is not one thing it is another! Very stoked about the PR though! Time to rest a few days and then jump into Dopey training.

Congrats on the PR! The stop at the running store sounds like a really good idea. I'm not sure what you were wearing but I find that for long or harder runs my knees usually do better if I wear compression tights or longer cw-x shorts. It may just be the placebo effect but the cw-x stuff does seem to minimize my IT band issues.
 
Coming back out of lurkdom to say BOOOO on Soarin'! I am doing the weekend with an old friend of mine, and when we were talking about FP reservations, I said the only thing I really wanted to do was ride Soarin. Well that stinks!
